The really sad part to me is that companies are so quick to cut people today. Public companies are under such pressure to bring shareholder value. Few companies anymore will step back and say "Hey, we want to do whatever we can to try and keep these people. Maybe we can all pull together, find a way to break even for a few years and see if all or most of us can make it through this". Corporations are about making the bottom line, not about people and family. And frankly, it's 'their' company, not mine so I really don't have much right to complain. I just think it's a shame.
well said.!!!!

I saw someone say that they were gonna vote for Obama because he said something about killing the tax breaks for companies that send jobs overseas.

One question about that...

If those companies get taxed more heavily....who do you think is going to wind up PAYING those taxes? It sure won't be those companies.

They'll just figure out how much in additional taxes they are going to have to pay....and then tack that on to the price of their goods.

Who's the winner in that scenario??? It sure isn't going to be the consumers.

So, you'd rather they keep getting tax breaks for outsourcing work overseas, which results in more people here losing jobs?
