DENVER - Before an enormous crowd, Barack Obama promised a clean break from the “broken politics in Washington and the failed presidency of George W. Bush” Thursday night as he embarked on the final lap of his bid to become the nation's first black president. “Now is not the time for small plans,” the 47-year-old Illinois senator told an estimated 84,000 people packed into Invesco Field, a huge football stadium in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. This is a moment in history that will be remembered and talked about for a long time. His speech was very inspiring for all Americans. NOT HARDLY.....the scowl on his face of a pitt bull....ready to snap off someone's head....REAL INSPIRING... LINDYY Whether you are a republican or a democrate, the two candidates running in the November 4th election are extraordinary men, whom deserve better than the juvenile and primitive comments and analysis served in the likes of the comment above. We may each have our preference, for whatever reason, and that is legitimate. But at this stage of the campaign, to keep coming out with baseless, and rather 'uninspired' juvenile comments about either candidates, will do very little to tarnish their image. Quite to the contrary, it will rather go a long way to tarnish the credibility and reputation of the poster(s) spreading such empty and vile rhetoric. So, which corporations are you voting for? He can't vote, he is Canadian, he doesn't even know the difference between a State and a Territory |

Wow, quoting myself I am rotten to the core aren't I?
But...but ..but...I thought the right liked death and destruction? Umm nm no more pissiness from me tonight...I happily have to say this. Today I was a day that gladdened my heart. When I was a little girl I visited my Uncle in Alabama. He was working at Red Stone Arsenal. My father, uncle and I were sent to the store to get some last minute dinner materials. There were two lines. Colored and White in the grocery store. There was a young black woman behind the register in the colored check-out which was empty. A long line queued up in the white check-out. My father wasn't and isn't liberal...the guy is not full of peace love and understanding. He is practical and didn't want to stand in line. He moved to the empty colored line...what unfolded next was awful. Those minutes that followed have been carried with me all my whole life. Those minutes that followed made me despise hypocrites, racists and have set me on a path I am proud to walk. Do I think Obama is the answer? Honestly I have serious doubts. Am I proud to have lived to see that moment in the grocery store in Alabama and this moment tonight in Denver? Yes I am. I'd go so far as to say tonight I am even more proud, damned proud to be a citizen of the United States of America. Should I be accused of plagiarism the above incident is true. I wrote about it and the essay was published and is or was available on-line. I wrote it several years ago. |

The thing I like most about being Independent is that I get to watch the veins pop out of both the Democrat and Repulican foreheads! I ought to make a movie about Replublicrats and call it; "Rabid Without A Cause".

Even a John McCain TV ad airing tonight is unprecedented in the sense that it congratulates Democratic rival Barack Obama instead of attacking him.
"Senator Obama, this is truly a good day for America," McCain says. "Too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed. So I wanted to stop and say, congratulations. "How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day," "I'm Senator John McCain and I approved this ad." |

LINDYY Honestly Lindy, i am thinking you are right. After hearing his earlier speachings and reading things from his website i have discovered a man who is a talented public speaker. Unfortunately i haven't really seen anything of substance from the man's speaches. I think people looked at what happened under the Bush administration, and now blame everything on republicans. Natually many people would be leaning democrat, and when you combine that with Obama's public speaking ability, you have a lot of die-hards that want so badly to hear his beautiful words. They don't always think that maybe a democrat can be corrupt too... |

Obama said in his speech tonight that it is not the responsibility of Government to do everything for you, but they can inspire you to do good things for America. It reminded me of the JFK speech. |
