Some women do, and some women don’t. I would assume this applies to men also. I have had several proposals over the years but it just never felt right to me. I’m sure many women know of which I speak. If you asked a woman to marry you and she said no, consider it for the best. Move on and find someone else so that you both might be happy.

Some men simply want to marry. My guess is the OP does but I could be wrong. I've dated men in the past that NEEDED to get married and they put a lot of emphasis on doing it right away and having children. It’s just something they want in their lives. It really depends on the person though.

It would seem from my personal experience that there are more women than in previous decades choosing not to get married. Most likely that has been due to the fact that women no longer need to get married in order to retain their social status and financial assets. However, I would say that most women still want to get married.
