And it is unfair to judge someone for behavior which you indulge in, but as I said, it's sometimes very difficult to be objective. It's not a matter of fairness Spider. It's a matter of religion. If you claim to believe in the words of a God that are written in a doctrine then you must believe in those words and act on them accordingly. Otherwise what would be your agenda? I am not making my point clear. Christians are human. Humans have failings. All humans share the same failings. Therefore, it is unfair for a human to judge another for behavior which comes naturally to all humans. Simply because Christians try to hold themselves to a higher standard does not mean that they should be judged more harshly than someone who doesn't hold him or her self to that standard. |

I have no idea what you're talking about Spider. I was merely pointing out that Jesus does not support telling non-believers that it's wrong to not believe. Now you're taking about Christians holding themselves to higher standards than other people? Where did that come from? Isn't the the very same thing as judging non-Christians to have lower standards? Can you even think non-judgmentally at all? Are you even capable of it? |

Can you even think non-judgmentally at all? Are you even capable of it? The lines of communication have become crossed, let me give you a recap from my persepctive. 1) TLW posted that only "Fundies" try to convert people. 2) I disagreed with him on this point and stated it was unfair to only judge the "Fundies" for trying to convert people. 3) You stated that it is fair, because the Christians try to reach a standard and they should be held to that standard. 4) In another post, you changed the subject to Christians judging others for not accepting Christ. 5) I responded to your post in point #3. 6) You believe that I responded to the post in point #4, even though I quoted the post in point #3. I believe that you were *thinking* about the issue of Christians judging non-Christians for not accepting Christ, but you weren't making that point clear in the post referenced in point #3. To me, you seemed to be addressing my refutation of TLW accusation that only "Fundies" try to convert people in these forums. I know this post is confusing, but the topic jumped around a bit. I'm sure you'll figure it out and be able to see this from my perspective. |

well, when you learn to distinguish fact from fiction for yourself, abra, you will also learn that conjecture parading as fact is insincere and deceitful.
once that gets through your corrupted mind, if at all, you may begin tor ecognize that sound judgement is not just a christian throwing you under the bus, but truth and sincerity deconstructiong your delusional misapprehensions for your own good. Something that is not forthcoming any time soon. in your malicious attempts to profusely deflect your neglect and judge others, you succeed in exhibiting the judgements made by you as incredible. sit down before you fall down. i am surprised you cvan even stand on your own two feet at all. yes, that is a fasciteous remark. it takes them to make you rub the film from your eyes. notnig new from you, just a different day of your whinings commandeering the threads in hopes that it will all go away and everything will be better for king abra in his hijacked kingdom of unreknown. you are great comedy, clown. |

This from one who thinks the story of Jesus and the new testament is fact. It is pure fiction. JB |

yup.
something that escapes you in the frame of mind that makes any prey for that which deceives. namely, evolutionism. some day you might just figure that out and distinguish the truth from fictional distortions. in the meantime, just remember that evolution propagandists will never tire of declaring their justifications to themselves. And Jesus will still be around when they are gone. just try not to get too much on you, it is goo. it's a bird that won't fly. |

I already have learned that Wouldee. That's why I reject ancient stories that are totally unsupported by any evidence and make outrageous claims of virgin births, and blood washing away sins, and cadavers rising from graves and ascending into the sky. Clearly fiction IMHO. Pure unsupported insincere deceitful fiction to use your own terms. Now quantum mechanics? Ah that's the stuff that stars are made of, and nuclear generators, and nuclear submarines. Did you know that quantum mechanics is even used to design and manufacture things like computers and cell phones. Yep, actual hardcore proven facts Wouldee. I can distinguish fact from fiction quite well. Can you? Oh, by the way, I also believe in God even without ancient myths. Imagine that Wouldee? Faith without a crutch. It doesn't get any purer than that buddy. Absolutely divine. You should give it a try sometime. A little brotherly love mixed in there wouldn't hurt either. |

Oh don't kid yourself Wouldee. Everyone will be there. No one will be gone. I hope that doesn't disappoint you. Jesus loves everyone Wouldee. Who are you to go around threatening people that they will be gone? Who are you to judge who will be around? You're talking to a couple of pantheists here who totally understand that Jesus is our brother. Climb down off your judgemental pedestal and get a life Wouldee. You'll be happier for it. Really you will. Judging who Jesus will be happy to see when all is said and done is not for you to say. As soon as you quit using Jesus as a weapon to judge others your life will suddenly be much brighter. |

Excuse me for using Feral's style here.
NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE WRONG ... WRONG... WRONG.... The time of the worship of the fictional character and myth "Jesus" is coming to an end. The fraud and forgery of the New Testament will be realized and exposed. Both the Bible and the Urantia book will be revealed as frauds. The "true believers" will eventually die out and their children will be enlightened to the true nature of reality and the universe. The golden age will dawn. Praise the Prime Source and all those who cooperate with the prime source! May the blessings be, may peace reign, may you all find the joy of truth. Have faith in the law of creation. Have faith in the Law of attraction. JB (How's that for preaching my agenda?) |

I'm in total agreement that the story is indeed riddled with demagoguery at the very least. I'm willing to believe that it's possible that an actual rabbi lived and was wrongly crucified by the Romans. I'll give the story some basis in factual history. But only because I feel like it. I mean I have no reason to believe one way or the other actually. But you very well could be right. The whole entire thing could be a complete utter fabrication from the word go. In any case, it's utterly dispicable to use the story of Jesus as a judgmental spiritual weapon to club other people over the head with. That's utterly disgusting even if the story were true! We can thank the real God that whoever wrote this story actually did include words that denounce using this story to judge non-believers. Even though those words have gone unheeded for millennia. At least they do exist in the story itself and I was fortunate enough to find them today. The judging is over. People who try to use Jesus as an excuse to judge me are in for one hell of a rude awakening from now on out. I'm done. It's over. I will take no more. |

If someone wants to believe in Jesus be my guest, just don't be whacking me on the head with him I'm sick of it. |

Christians are just another pagan sect following a doctrine created for political reasons by Emperor Constantine. Jesus is just another version of Horus. Stop taking your little book of fables and parading it around like it has any factual basis in reality or history.
The existence of God or higher power has nothing to do with the corrupt and vain existence of the christian religion. |

If someone wants to believe in Jesus be my guest, just don't be whacking me on the head with him I'm sick of it. I love it! This too good! I think this whole forum is coming alive! All masks are coming off! The fundies are revealed for the 'pharisees' they are! More straight shooters are showing up on the threads, including real Christians, whom haven't checked their brains at the 'church' doorsteps (thanks to 'lonely's authentic and determined 'walk'!) Ironically, this is starting to look more and more like 'Palms Sunday'!!! Love oneanother, and leave the rest of the story a blank canvass, as Jesus (myth or reality take your pick) might have wished it. Imagine that!!! Love one another!!! No more complicated than that! Have no idea how that looks like! A planet operating under the master principle of 'love one another'! The only 'commendment'! The only law! No idea what that would be like! Truly impossible to imagine, given our current condition!!! BUT THAT IS WHY IT IS INSPIRING!!! As opposed to being delusional, inspiration lucidly assumes the current unworkability of that which inspires!!! Faith in the idea, but no fact whatsoever to support it!!! That is faith!!! (and I have no fact to support it!!!) 'love one another', and all personnal variations of that theme are it. No need to imopose personnal interpretations of 3 000 year old myths, turned into delusional convictions, only serving to spread disfnctional confusion. Love one another!!! Tough as all heck, ... it's so simple!!! Just the essence, and pure faith (trust) in human spirit!!! That's why Jesus (myht or real) didn't write anything down. He didn't wish it written down like some kind of 'pharisees's 'good living' recipe! COUNTERPRODUCTIVE!!! That's how Jesus felt about the 'books'. It's in each one's heart and soul, fighting the reptilian brain and instincts within, or it's nowhere!!! If you feel the need of all the contraptions of dogmatic religions in order to 'ONE DAY' get to that place of peace and love in the 'sky'!!! You need to re-group, and get back to K.I.S.S. !!! Bible inerrancy!!! Jesus would be mad as 'heaven'!!! |

Therefore, it is unfair for a human to judge another for behavior which comes naturally to all humans.
Simply because Christians try to hold themselves to a higher standard does not mean that they should be judged more harshly than someone who doesn't hold him or her self to that standard. But then surely that standard should not be forced upon other non-believers. It should be kept within the circle of believers. The standard of the christian is his/her own affair. To improve oneself by attempting to do good, being charitable and generally improving the environment they live in are admirable (to me) traits. Try to live by it and then the christian has acheived his personal goal. (also not an issue to me) But, when that personal goal is used to judge non-believers, then it becomes a problem to me. As you are aware, I see the bible in a negative way. If you (not you personally, btw), but "you" the christian, try to tell me that my way of living is not acceptable to your god, then I dont really care as I dont believe in your god. If you then try to tell others that my way of living is unacceptable, then I have a problem - a big problem. If I decide to have sex with multiple partners (I should be so lucky ) You see this as a sin, I see it as a purely human action. If I decide to have an abortion, again you see it as a sin, I see it as personal choice. Keep it to yourself or within your circle of fellow believers, then fine, but start demonstrating in the streets about taking away my rights to have free choice then I will respond in kind. Its a kind of action/opposite reaction kind of thing. Live and let live. Does that make it a little clearer (Im sorry if it doesnt, I have only just got up and have not finished my coffee yet) |

I think also Abra has said this as well ..
no more beating him over the head with a rubber Jesus
James, that has to be the best line I have heard in a very long time. (It will take a little time to clear up the coffee from the keyboard though) |
