Well, I look on the bright side. We are now able to speak freely about these differences of opinion. No organizations abound with the presumed authority to throw us into dark dungeons, nor torture us as heretics if we do not acquiesce with the church's best interest in mind. These are good times.

indeed, many things you say are of great wisdom, and this be my perception........

Oh I don’t know about that. I’m a silly dilly. But that’s nice of you. I would say the same of you. It’s just a matter of perspective to some degree and the bible does have some interesting takes on events. I don’t think anyone would argue that.

I have spent most of the morning reading this entire thread...WOW sooo many beliefs and sooo many dis-beliefs. I grew up in a christian church and I took anthropolgy in college and yet I still can see where both sides of the arguement can be true. It is a never ending battle of wits.

oh for the love and bliss of wisdom that blend the two of anything as two sides of the coin of human perception, creating the view of the whole coin, that produce a gold coin having all wisdom..........

Okay this is a last ditch effort to kind of explain this a bit with a visualization. Granted its kind of a silly photo but they do these so that even grade school kids start to get the big picture. We did NOT evolve from apes.

http://www.franklin.k12.ma.us/~coreyj/familytree.jpg

The term "human", in the context of human evolution, refers to the genus Homo, but studies of human evolution usually include other hominins, such as the australopithecines. The Homo genus diverged from the australopithecines about 2 million years ago in Africa. Several typological species of Homo, now extinct, evolved. These include Homo erectus, which inhabited Asia, and Homo neanderthalensis, which inhabited Europe.

Please show me.......

It's all in the textbooks honey. bigsmile

No need to rehash it here.

You're just trying to prey are ignorant minds.

Did you confess your agenda in Redy's thread?

That you're trying to convert the whole world to Christianity because you're anxious for Jesus to come back?

Surely you can find more attractive ways to convert people than this? You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. The kind of people you'd get with these kinds of arguments you could probably win over by just telling them that Hershey Bars will be on sale in Heaven if they sign up now. bigsmile

We don't agree much but...

Tribo I could not find another decent primate tree image. Check this out if you have a high speed connection. http://www.becominghuman.org/

Launch that little doc.

hmmm? whats that supposed to prove my lady? that we "evolved" from apes?

I personally don't think we did but not because of the bibble [humor] - i think we came from somewhere else. the interpretations of past humans in my thinking are not evidence of man but of something else maybe somewhat similar to man . of course this is just my opinion.

i think as a species we have "devolved" not evolved. stories of MU and Atlantis and others leads me to conclude that man was much more intelligent in the far past than he is now, we have forgotten much more than we knew at one time - therefore - devolution. if the library of Alexandria had survived i think it would explain these things in most great detail - but Alas we will never know.

No, not that we "evolved from apes". That’s a common misconception. Kind of like in the 60's when they had a lot of sci-fi movies depicting cave men running from dinosaurs and being eaten alive. No, that’s ridiculous. Basically what the primate evolutionary tree shows is that we shared a common ancestor BUT there was a distinct divergence. What would become "human" was defined as homo. What would later be primate went in another direction and is now what we know of as modern day apes and monkeys. Otherwise, where would the apes have gone if we simply "evolved" from them? It’s just a theory. A theory I personally buy into until I see something else that makes more sense. I respect if you have other views on it of course.

Yes, and they also thought the atom was the smallest cell known then they split that open and a load of sh*t came out, science changes EVERY day when new things are found, so you can't base "fact" on "facts" from 20 years ago...
