QS wrote:

The fact that you are here & still talking about God means you all have questions that need answering.

Well, if we go by that then you must have questions about God that need answering because you're here too.

LOL..no...actually I am here because I like sharing my faith with others. That does seem to get sidetracked by unbelief of some though.

Clearly you make up these little things to try to justify your conclucions, but as you can see they have no substance.

Oh man! Go back & read all I wrote. Miracles & sign & wonder happen every day. If they didn't, the testimony of the faithful of God's ABIDING presence is also there to share. No matter...I politely say it's yours to not believe.

God says there is only one way to Him...Jesus. There is no other mediator between God & man. That is also in God's word.. I do understand why people feel this way though.

Clearly the bible cannot be the word of God because God would never be that confused. The Bible is nothign but mixed messages that constantly contradict previous messages.

The whole way through your post you continually harp about the Bible being the word of God. You try to refer to miracles as support for the Bible. But the existence of miracles wouldn't mean that the Bible is the word of God anyway. That would just mean that there are supernatural forces at work. And besides, what miracles are you talking about? I know of no miracles.

LOL..sorry to laugh but this is a no brainer. Now your just being silly. hehehe Besides, I already answered your confusion in directing you to the secret things of God etc etc...I am not going to keep repeating it.

However, you seem to keep forgetting that I'm not an atheist. All I'm saying is that the Bible can't be the word of God. I'm not saying that there is no such thing as "god".

Clearly you are not able to converse about the topic objectively because you are so totally convinced that the Bible is the word of God that you can't even separate the two. As far as you're concerned the Bible is God. If you discovered that the Bible is mythology then your God would no longer exist.

Well your scenario is based on the premise that you leave out entirely the grace & power of God to manifest His good wishes upon people. Individual proof is object enough. I don't think it's me who lacks the crediblity when I say it is so....and I'm not the only one here who says that.

You have no choice but to defend the book. You have no God without it. You don't trust God to exist unless you have a fable to go with him. A lot of people are in that boat QS you're not alone in that I assure you.

It's your interpretation of my thoughts & intent, not mine. I share my faith not defend the book. My God comes from a relationship through grace & not just a book. The Bible is only as good as the grace applied to it and is for as many as would BELIEVE. Your assumption does not negate my testimony. Get it straight. thanks...

I have examined your documentation. I have read the Bible. No, I have not studied it for years and years or read it over and over, nor have I committed to believing it on faith or been "born again" or any of that. But I have given it as much attention as I felt it deserved, and I decided that it is not credible enough information for further study.

QS would like to discredit me,

No one is trying to do anything of the sort. That's something you congered up to gain sympathy. LOL

I don't think of this as "Us" and "Them". I hear truth in everyone's words (even when, at times, some words seem completely condemning). The reason I don't declare any one religion is simply because it would define beliefs, locking them in one place in time, leaving no room for new discovery. New discovery is neither good nor evil. Or, perhaps it's both and perhaps that's exactly as it's meant to be. Just as we have been given brains meant to continuously discover the Universe around us, I believe we have been given the ability to allow for evolving possibility in all. Is it my ego that stops me from declaring one belief because I think I'm larger than that? Could be. But, at least I can be free of having to be right.

Thank God!

D'oh!

I just realized that, by saying that last statement, I'm saying I'M right.

I am not sure of my "beliefs." Mostly because they have changed over the years in the evaluation of new information.

So my beliefs are temporary conclusions. I think they are as right as can be, but I can't declare with certainly that I am right.

I exist. That is all I know.

Everything else is an opinion.

A lot of people can't handle that.

They need the security of an ultimate authoritarian who can protect them and who knows the answers to every question.

It's a terrible shame that men didn't invent a religion that could provide that without the need to denounce non-believers as being hostile enemies of God.

That's where the real problem lies.

The religion wouldn't have been a problem at all had it been invented with genuine love and compassion.

But it wasn't invented with that in mind. It was invented with the purposes of controlling people. Contolling how women behaved with their husbands. Telling people what they can and cannot do, and denouncing anyone who doesn't go along with the authority of the religion as being a heathen who is rejecting God and siding with evil.

It's truly a negative religion toward non-believers. I don't care what anyone says. It's in the Bible. There are even places in the Bible where God instructs people to destroy non-believers, their chilren, they livestock and their entire villages, and to burn them to the ground and never build on that site again.

It is an extremely negative and violent toward non-believers, and therein lies it's nemesis.

again and again, the same statement.
we already know you feel hated by christians.
we already know you feel surrounded by us.
we already know the oxygen levels get lower when christians are around you.
we already know all that my friend.
is the world going to change because you feel some sort of paranoia towards the Bible and christians?
my only joy is that your distorted view about christianity is far from real. at least from my christian personal experience.
BTW tell the voices in your head that they aren't christians.

Voices in his head?surprised

Are you suggesting that Abra is psychotic?

Lonleywalker, you should not take his statements personal and I think that is what you are doing. This is his experience with the doctrine and he studied it with a fine tooth comb like any mathmatician would, with the idea that he was going to teach it. It did not add up for him. That made him angry.

He is not angry at you or any Christian.

We already know you disagree with his assessment.
We already know what Christians believe.
We already know they feel compelled to preach the word.
We already know they feel persecuted and misunderstood.
We already know how happy they are about it.
We hear it all the time, over and over, not from just one person, but from every preaching Christian.

Be happy. Don't worry. You are right and everybody else is wrong. Have faith in that and sleep well.

Yours is a faith based doctrine. It can't be proven. Yet we are constantly looked at and preached at like we are the crazy ones for not believing it.

If we are crazy ... I can give you a guess what makes us crazy. Hearing the same old tired so-called truth about God over and over and being treated like we are crazy or heathens or lost souls headed for Hell, for not believing in something unreasonable.

Be at peace. Preach your gospel. Don't fret the non-believers. There is no reason to.

According to Spider, biblical hate is simply disapproval of something. Clearly Christians disapprove of not believing in Jesus. Therefore by their own admission they hate all non-believers based on the biblical meaning of hate (assuming that Spider has a clue  )

we already know you feel surrounded by us.

You already know that I denounce all Mediterranean based mythology and that I post my thoughts as a community service to humanity as a whole.

I'm looking out for the future of humanity Miguel. bigsmile

Christains always seem to think that they know things that aren't true.

my only joy is that your distorted view about christianity is far from real. at least from my christian personal experience.

I'm glad that you are able to maintain sanity in the midst of all of this. It is never my intent to burst personal bubbles. Like I say, I'm making my appeal to the bulk of humanity. I'm not out to change any individual's mind about personal beliefs. flowerforyou

BTW tell the voices in your head that they aren't christians.

I would except they have faces with them. Their self-proclaimed Christians alright. Last night in a dream they were lined up in single file walking past as dead Jesus stabbing him in the back with daggers.

I didn't feel threated by them at all. They seemed to be hopelessly lost and totally unable to hurt anyone, including Jesus, because he was long since dead.

You shouldn't allow things that you read on a public forum to upset you Miguel. Just realize that it's information. Period.

You can accept it or reject it. No need to get emotionally attachted to it. It's just an opinion. A personal view. Food for thought for whatever it's worth, or not worth. flowerforyou

You have a very UGLY view of other people's faith. You have the right to believe or not believe what you want, but to paint others you don't know in this way is just disgusting. Pathetic actually.

It convinces me how UGLY men like Hitler can be put into power by ignorant people who think like this....

If you voted for George Bush, it is people like you who put people like Hitler into Power. The Bush family from granddaddy Bush to George Bush senior to the current George in office have supported Hitler-like tactics. This family is also good friends with the Ben Ladens. These are well known facts for those who know how to look at the real news.

Bush's and the Ben Laden family:

It seems this relationship between G.W. Bush and Bin Laden has been going on way longer then the American Public realizes. To start with, some of G.W. Bush's own businesses are linked to the Saudis who avidly support Bin Laden, and the Ben Laden family. But let's back up here a few years.

Really? When was the last time you looked? huh

Seriously, he has been and still may be good friends with the Ben Laden Family. Why do you think they conveniently have not found Ben Laden? Good friends.

Did you see the news cast where Bush accidentally accused Saddam Hussein for 9-11? That was so funny! BUT that is exactly what actually happened. After they told everyone Ben Laden did it, and had no proof of that, they directed the dumbed down public to believe that Saddam Hussein was some how responsible for terrorism and 9-11. That was a neat trick Huh?

Just goes to show you that people will believe anything coming from anyone in any kind of authority. I bet you even believe him. huh

I don't really think it's fair to talk about someone who is away.

I never made that claim, you are misremembering.

"Hate", in Hebrew, can sometimes mean "reject", not "disapprove".
