6 cyl. right? well either way if its turning over and sounds like it wants to start but isnt getting enough fuel id go with a bottle of dry gas and maybe check the seal around the hood to see if water is getting in somehow.

4 cyl. Hell, just pull the gas line to the carb. If it has any power to the pump it should spray out the line.

You can get it at most gas stations, it's about $5 and it's not actually dry, it's a liquid... but it's called dry gas.

Probably fuel injected, but it has to get gas there. My 96 Cavalier is a 2.2, fuel ubjected, but it still has a gas line to the throttle body to supply gas.

Carbs haven't been used in cars since about the mid 80's.

Shadow....a couple of things to check. I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but you may just have a plugged up fuel filter.

If I'm not mistaken, there are two of them o that truck. One in the tank, and one under the hood.

Might wanna check both of them. It would be a whole lot cheaper than replacing the pump itself.

yeah you can buy it at just about any store or gas station auto zone. and also if you ended up triggering the check engine light you might want to try unhooking the battery and rehooking it to reset the idle learn procedure .it will turn the check engine light off till it has a chance to reset it self from driving.

Why is it when you think your getting where you would like to be to a certain extent. Somthing stupid happens and your back where you startd.

I hear u! I was clicking along, living my life and my transmission fell out, of my car onto the street, on my lunch break one day 2 months ago. That SAME day, at the end of my work day, I was fired from my job of 7 years. I feel ur pain!

Just keep dealing and sooner or later it will be better. I mean it HAS to get better! Right?
