I'm old enough to remember 3 slices of pizza and a small coke for 85 cents....
When I first started driving gas was between 45-50 cents a gallon. Oh good, now I feel older than dirt |

Sheeesh...
![]() I NEVER had a metal lunch-box ![]() ![]() Come to think of it...Plastic either.. ![]() ![]() I carried my lunch to school in either a 'Krey Pure Lard' or a 'Cudahy's Lard' 4-lb bucket. Mother would alternate days... (some kids used the same bucket every school-day) so I felt like I was 'Special' ![]() Now I know it was just so she could make sure it was kept sanitary inside, so I wouldn't get sick. ![]() Only ones that felt left out was the ones that HAD fancy lunch boxes... Thanks for jogging my memory.. I got that same warm feeling just remembering, as I did at lunch-time finding that 'special treat Mother always "hid" at the bottom of those old buckets.. ![]() ![]() [His Offical Seal] <by: His Royal Majesty... I had an Arabesque Ballerina metal lunch box through grade school.
![]() "The Call of the Wild" was my first paperback book. All the library books were hard cover, so it was new to me, though not to the market. I believe the first paperbacks were produced during WWII in Germany to make approved literature more affordable to the masses. |
