I'm not a grammar nazi but seriously people, can we get the
phonetic spelling under control? Also I understand that there are no
"edit" buttons to correct a spelling error but there is a definite
difference between "your" and you're" or "there" and "their" these are
NOT interchangable words.

when i write....im just so caught up in da moment and dont care to spell
check.....daz for me of course....

As I do understand where you are coming from, and do enjoy reading post
that have at least proper spelling. I also do understand that there
maybe people that struggle with spelling and grammar. So I just pur up
with it. As I know there spelling really does not reflect on the type of
person they really are.

As for the spelling, I, myself am a bad speller. I find it hard to spell
some of the words I would normally use. I opt out and use less
meaningfull words. If I do not sound all that grown up to anyway, I am
sorry.

I must confess I have never really understood the "it's just a chat room
so lighten up" attitude...I mean, I don't think anyone should be placed
under a "grammarscope" here, but is there some reason it's "okay" at
times to give people the impression you can't spell and write correctly,
and other times you make a more concerted effort to make sure you do?

If one has a true learning disability, that's one thing. But why in the
world would someone *deliberately* misspell and misuse punctuation and
correct grammar *anywhere,* if they knew otherwise how to keep from it?
Hmmm...that's one for the ages.

But I'm really not surprised...heck, even in high school now they don't
really care about students expressing themselves in a grammatically
correct manner, so I guess you're right.

Why SHOULD they even care here, of all places? Who gives a damn that
American kids (and maybe even more adults) are "dumbing down" further
and further as time goes on?

We have much more important things to worry about, right? Such as
whether or not we're gonna "do" the person above us!

some of the lonelist people I know are spelling teachers......LOL
