I bet there are a lot of people who wish Id do that!!laugh laugh laugh laugh

I have no problem with anyone expressing their views, but be open enough to listen to others as well. And I take a great deal of issue with the word murderer bein used.

Just to clarify what the topic of this thread was all about. I asked questions of AMERICAN Vets and those currently serving in the military several questions.
What was ur reason for joining?
Do u consider urself a murderer?
Would u prefer to help or kill people?
I ask for honest answers.

To the first question: To better myself.

The second: No.

The third: I would prefer to help people.

When you go into the military you take a pledge to defend this nation, even to the point of making the ultimate sacrifice, if that's what's necessary!

The military life is not always pleasant, but military people obey their orders and do their duty!!!

As a vet I am proud and salute those who served, especially those who were wounded or paid the ultimate price for their duty to God and country!!!!

Sam I just looked at ur profile. Canadian A?? My maternal great grandmother was canadian, she lived here in the USA illegally with her husband and children. Never went back. Her daugher my grandmother was a canadian citizen but got a green card and stayed here in the USA to raise a family. She never went back to Canada. I wonder why????? Hmmmmmmmmmm could it be cause of people such as urself???
To think if my Great Grandparents hadn't snuck into the US I'd be a canadian right now. Thank goodness for big favors.

He is just bad mouthing our soldiers for no reason. Our soldiers are not attacking poor defenseless people. If we wanted to kill defenseless people we would have just bombed the hell out of the country and it would have been over years ago for a lot less money.
that is a load of BS I posted a link that had a video of troops doing just that and the mods pulled it down. It "informed to many" and they asked me not to repost it if you would like I will email you the lijnk the validity of this video is not in quistion

Even if that video exists it could be taken out of context. Not to mention it could be some renegade soldiers. Again I say that if we just wanted to run wild and kill people there would have been quicker and cheaper alternatives.

I would go with the renegade soldiers theory.

That is not to say that all soldiers behave this way!

I'm actually agreeing with the Chazster!

I needed the discipline.

...I wasn't a troublesome child...I just found myself working for Mc Donald’s and I didn't want to stay in that situation.
I knew I needed more.
Once I joined, it gave me and my ENTIRE family a great sense of pride.

They all needed the money , the benefits , and because they were useles in a civilian life .
Congratulations all . Please keep on lying to yourself and to all the world .

actually the people that are useless in civilian life are the ones living off welfare, and smoking pot or drinking beer all day. (Sound like you?) If you weren't so ignorant you would realize that joinging the military isn't being a copout. They work harder, with longer hours than anyone else i knew.

In fact in doing the math, hmmm.... i averaged about 90 hours per week. (Technically 89.62337 hours for the month i that i did the figuring.) It's a lifestyle. Not like you can leave your job and go home (until you are discharged).

Why am i even arguing with you? You are probably the most thickheaded person i've ever heard of. Why do you even care about our military anyway? You're not even a citizen.

DUDE, you're my new friend....drinker drinker

When I was in Iraq, I went to work EVEYDAY for 5 months, without a day off. Had constant reminders of work, ALL DAY long, EVERYDAY. The clothes I wore, the chow I ate, the Tank I was chauffered around in..lol The dust storms, the heat, the lack of expressed religion, the lack of beer, the bathrooms made out of plywood that sat four. The can under my butt in that bathroom, that would later be filled with fuel, and set ablaze. The Aussie shower that quickly ran dry. The dung beetles, the camels, the sand in every pore of my body. The sand in my food. The sand in everything I owned. The pistol on my hip. The gas mask on my other hip. The chemical suit near my feet. Green or brown or tan EVERTHING for 5 months. Washing 50 lbs of clothes in a tub by hand, and then having them covered by blowing sand while they dried. Going to bed at 10pm when it was 90 degrees, and waking up with my teeth chattering because it's now 80.. BUT, it's now 40 degrees cooler than it will be later on.

Yes, I was there. The men and women in today are doing 12 to 14 month rotations. Whole divisions going in, and leaving at the same time. That's more than twice the time I spent there.

Here's to today's military.. Let me rephrase that. Here's to the militaries of today's allies. The freedoms that we civilians enjoy, are because of you. If I want to gripe about my life nowadays, I just have to look back in time, but put another person's face where mine was way back then.

Oh, and I forgot. People shooting at me and my buddies, and planting bombs to kill me and my buddies.

Army. Navy. Air Force. Marines. Coast Guard. Griping Civilians.

One of these gets NO tip of my hat. Guess which one?

I joined because I wanted to, because there was a sense of pride in wearing the uniform. I have never considered myself or any other soldier a murderer, though there are are unfortunately those few who make the rest look bad.
