Topic: Are you a good conversationalist?

I am but I met someone who would not engage in dialog last week. The most I could get was one word answers. I asked her to contribute but she said she was happy just getting to know me by listening. I kept talking and tried to pull her into the conversation. Nope. I stated she should ask some questions of me if she wanted to really know me. Her response was the same. She wanted to hear me do it. Huh? Needless to say after several hours I gave up.

I'll agree with you. It bother's me when I'm talking to someone and all they type is: "ask me anything" "anything else you want to ask?" "what else would you like to know"

When people respond 'consistently' with one word or very brief answers I just figure they are truly not interested in corresponding. Hard to find out if there is any connection when you are doing all the conversing by yourself!

It's sometimes hard to get them out of that shell.

I can talk to people no problem, but when it comes to women I'm interested in, I just about freeze, also they have to want to talk to you too..

On line yes, in person yes, on the phone not at all. I hate the phone and tend to freeze up when talking on it. It isn't disinterest I just get stumped for what to say.....
