I would for Publix too. I usually work second shift. I don't have a car and I live close so I walk home. I am a legal firearm owner. I have my permit to carry. I had an incident last November where I was attacked. I have to keep myself safe. What the government has to do is regulate firearms properly. We can fix the problem but it's fixing the people that's an issue. Honestly, does it make me a bad person cause I believe in my rights? I work hard, I pay my taxes. I chose to keep myself safe. THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS!!!

We probably need to rewrite the Constitution...after all, it IS an outdated, antiquated document. This is 2008! It needs to get with the times. Wow, I can't believe this statement! After all of the lives that were sacrificed to ensure we could escape the reaches of a controling government, you would throw away the wisdom and experience that wrote it. It's enough that it's been amended through the years to escape the very reason this land was discovered by our ancestors. Dare I ask who you would have pen the replacement? http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html The government already has too much control over us...DESPITE the Constitution. I would completely scrap it, disband the government, and all its institutions. Unfortunately, we won't get that chance without another revolution. And when are we going to start? When we think we can do it without being called "traitors"? |

i have mixed feeling on the law in question, i love the idea of having access to the gun but would feel better if the gun was actually on my person. not that i want to use it but if i need to i would hate to have to run to my car get it and then return to help innocent ppl being shot at by the nut shooting. I believe in the Constitution and the right to bear arms. I believe it deters violence, if everyone thought someone might be packing then people might be less likely to try something. I believe you should be trained and very familiar with the use of a firearm and what to look for as far as whats behind the target, etc. It is getting to the time in this country that we need to remember our Founding Fathers and what they fought against and what made this a great nation..once... people need to take responsibility for their actions, and not depend on the government to supply their needs. socialism is not the answer...ok so i got on a rant sorry. vote for the good of the country not the lesser of two evil.

I agree, the law should go a step further and not allow any infringement on the right to carry ( i understand not allowing people to carry into a court ect ) It really seems most guns laws just pander to those too scared to think about the topic rationally. |

I am all for the new law, but the Constitution should have been enough we dont need new laws, we all know whats right and wrong come on..laws only infringe on law abiding citizens. crimminals dont care about the laws. criminals would love to see us all unarmed so they can have easy targets..oh and so would the government. i think open carry should be a law...oh wait is it...it in the Constitution. the right to bear arms shall NOT be infringed upon...sorry didnt realize I already posted to this..oh well

O jeez, who cares?
People who want to bring their guns, legal, illegal, are gonna bring their guns. |

It is that whereever you work, you are allowed to bring you gun and leave it in you car, truck, or whatever you drive. Sorry I posted it in the topic, but it was to long. Here is the info: The "Preservation and Protection of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in Motor Vehicles Act of 2008" states that: The statute provides that an “employer”—that is, a business with at least one worker who has a concealed carry permit—may not: (1) prohibit a worker with a concealed-carry permit from securing a gun in a vehicle in a parking lot;(2) prohibit a customer—whether or not he or she has a concealed-carry permit—from securing a gun in a vehicle in a parking lot; (3) ask a worker with a concealed carry permit or a customer whether he or she has a gun in a vehicle in a parking lot, take any action against such a worker or against a customer based on a statement about whether the worker or customer has a gun in a vehicle in a parking lot for lawful purposes, or search a vehicle in a parking lot for a gun; (4) condition employment on whether a person has a concealed-carry permit; (5) terminate a worker with a concealed-carry permit, or otherwise discriminate against such a worker, or expel a customer, for having a gun in a vehicle on the business’s property, unless the gun is exhibited on the property. A business that does not have at least one worker with a concealed-carry permit is not subject to any of these provisions. |

bumping this as I would like to hear more about taking the rights away from owners of private property!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that is a good idea. I dislike it because it makes me feel unsafe while i'm outside doing my job which is collecting carts and other stuff, even though I allready feel unsafe enough anywayz. What's the postive and negavite about it? positive - now legal to store your weapon in vehicle negative - now legal to store your weapon in vehicle |

heck with that just get a holster and carry it in the open you have the right to bare arms it is the law templter - can the parking lot of your 2 examples be considered private as they are for public use? I've seen many accidents in parking lots where the police do not issue summons as accidents happened on public property as per officer on site. |

Can anyone be sure this hasn't been going on all along leaving weapons in vehicles while entering establishments?
Are they now worried that when someone reaches their car they will be/can be armed? |

Who is telling you what to do on YOUR PROPERTY? |
