flowerforyou Why do some people think that being drunk is an excuse for cheating ? flowerforyou
its sure not... and not an excuse for anything when i used to go to the bar a lot when i was 32... i always went home by myself !

Well, if you always went home by yourself then you were not really drunk were you?

cheating is like sticking your wiener in a toaster because either one will prevent you from getting any again

because alcohol makes you lose control of your ability to make decisions? It doesn't make it right, but scientifically its true.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Not exactly.
Alcohol simply allows you to loose inhabitions and good sense. Allowing you to actualize whatever behavior you choose to rationalize at the moment.

here we go...the chicken or the egg?
Seems to me, the poor decision making started before the cheating...as in maybe having that second drink, just my opinion and thats worth about as much as you paid for it. flowerforyou

Yes you lose your inhibitions and so you make decisions you normally would not. The more drunk you are the more you lose. You can be easily swayed and do things you normally wouldnt do.

The question was never "is being drunk an excuse for cheating". The question was " why do some people think being drunk is an excuse for cheating".

I was merely giving the side effects of alcohol and how they could effect your decision making ability.

I many not agree with either, but I think its worse to make a conscious choice to cheat when you are sober than to get drunk and cheat.

being drunk can assist in making bad decisions..

perhaps its not an excuse..but a rationale..
had they been sober...they wouldnt have done such a thing

I've heard that being drunk just brings out your true colors uninhibited...so how would that be an excuse? It's like saying, "I was only thinking bout it till I had those last shots baby!" shocked

Because the one's that use that excuse think we are just as dumb as they are and will fall for it. But even an idiot can see through that one.

That's one reason I don't like women who get drunk. I don't do it either.

Because statistically (used loosely) your senses are impaired by drinking so therefore it is a liable excuse to use when you have done something wrong...such as cheating...copout yes, lame excuse...yes.

People like that can't own up to their mistakes.

...or admit they made a mistake in the first place.

Yes we guys think about having sex with other women all the time. This is not new news. Its hardwired into our DNA. Where have you been.

I realize men think about sex all the time, but that they are thinking about having it with other women is news to me.

I guess in saying so, you have just uncovered all men as being liars now.frown

Why would that be news to you. Look at animals in nature. The males role is to impregnate as many females as they can. It insures the survival of the species. We may be more intelligent and have rational thought, but these instincts still exist in some form.

Well it is refreshing to meet a young man who is not a liar. It seems I've only dated liars so far. That is a bigger issue for me than if he wants to screw the whole female population. But the bottom line is that in the civilized world when someone makes a commitment to another, they should stand by it...sober or animalistically drunk. The idea is so upsetting it's making me fabricate words now. laugh
