God, Debbie, I hope this is a rhetorical question!!!! noway laugh noway laugh

no this happened to me yesterday

Dear Lord, woman!!! Did this doctor give an explanation as to WHY he was not using gloves? Perhaps there is something that has to be felt that would require them not to be used????

no there was no reason he shouldnt have wore gloves, he was just looking externally.

also once he did a vaginal swab on me, and he didnt wear gloves or wash his hands after. and the same both occasions there was no one else in the room, when there should be a shaperone.

If he examined rectally and then did the swab without gloves - he needs to be reported.

He's an OB and not a Gastro? OB's don't have you bend over a table.

no, a few months ago, he did a vaginal swab, he had to touch me to open the lips, and he took a swab wearing no gloves and he didnt wash his hands.

then yesterday when i saw him, he did that examination with no gloves on.

and on both occasions no one else was present in the room.

Ummmmm, TMI here, Deb.flowerforyou

sorry, i think hes just unprofessional, i would hate to think of it in a peverted way

Maybe the medical professionals are a little different in England. In the US that probably would have been a law suit issue.

It's wrong for many reasons. How do you know that he washed his hands after touching his last patient? What did they have that he maybe gave to you? Like someone else said, here in the US, someone else has to be in the room for those exams. And if you told him NO - you didn't wanna be examined and he did it anyway? You need to report him, PERIOD and do NOT go back.

Just my opinion of course.

Well when a doctor examines your bum, sometimes you just drop pants and bend over the table. But THEY DO WEAR GLOVES. Kinda scary though, I mean imagine if that wasn't his finger but something else grumble Anyways, what do you plan on doing from this violation? What is your action?

Personally I would find another doctor. If that doctor asks why you are transferring to another doctor I'd be up front and tell him the truth... flowerforyou

i know after the first event, i was told to tell the police and report him but i didnt. but after yesterday im thinking maybe i should have.

The proper route, I believe, would be the medical board.

maybe. i dont know. i did say i didnt want to be examined, but he said i had to.

Yikes, I'd say that would be a red flag don't you think?

Can I ask why you didn't stop him? I'd have been off that table in a split second!

Just that there has recently been a spate of foreign doctors carrying out "not so professional" procedures, like female circumcision, late abortions ( because the parents did not want that particular sex of the baby. This goes on in Harley St of all places !

HELL NO - I don't know the specifics of course, but do not go back to him. Physically and verbally abuse? You don't deserve that.

Time to start tape recording your visits! If you make a complaint now, he is going to say it's your word against his,it will be very messy to prove this. You should have gone straight to the reception desk and report it !!
