Well to see your butt good then yes that is appropriate.. what is NOT appropriate was the he did not have gloves on! noway

BTW.. I work for a doctor.. rectal exams and such have to be performed this way.. but he ALWAYS wears gloves!

i agree, and on the examining table would be more appropiate. plus he didnt have anyone else in the room. just him and me

Ok.. now him not having an assistant in there was inappropriate. If the doctor I work for exams a female one of us has to stay in the room with him... but for males.. we get lost! laugh

no one else in the room, used no gloves, and as i said he did a vaginal swab, and he had to touch me to open me up etc, and he wore no gloves then, and he didnt wash his hands.

Deb, the examination table is not sufficient for that type of exam.flowerforyou

a doctor does a examination of your bum, doesnt put you on the examaming bed, and just tells you to stand up, bend over, lower your pants and then he opens your butt cheeks wearing no gloves??

Time to call a lawyer

God, Debbie, I hope this is a rhetorical question!!!! noway laugh noway laugh

no this happened to me yesterday

Dear Lord, woman!!! Did this doctor give an explanation as to WHY he was not using gloves? Perhaps there is something that has to be felt that would require them not to be used????

no there was no reason he shouldnt have wore gloves, he was just looking externally.

also once he did a vaginal swab on me, and he didnt wear gloves or wash his hands after. and the same both occasions there was no one else in the room, when there should be a shaperone.

If he examined rectally and then did the swab without gloves - he needs to be reported.

He's an OB and not a Gastro? OB's don't have you bend over a table.

Time for a new doctor and time to look at their procedures manual.

Personally I would find another doctor. If that doctor asks why you are transferring to another doctor I'd be up front and tell him the truth... flowerforyou

True. But the entire procedure was inappropriate and unprofessional from beginning to end... excuse the phrase.

no, a few months ago, he did a vaginal swab, he had to touch me to open the lips, and he took a swab wearing no gloves and he didnt wash his hands.

then yesterday when i saw him, he did that examination with no gloves on.

and on both occasions no one else was present in the room.

The proper route, I believe, would be the medical board.
