I have made some blog entries about getting here and living here in Dahab, Egypt.

Im not sure they would fit on here, with all the formatting, etc, but if you want to have a read then they are here

www.dunx.net/page3.php

I have others that I have not posted, especially about my times in Thailand and my tale of being incarcerated in a Malaysian jail, but they are also there for those interested in travel-logs

Wow highly interesting! I will check it out! Thank you very much for sharing this.

It's that time again boys and girls. Time for a couple more Arch Profiles from my Aeon Series. ( last section on page 9 ) Oh, and if we have any artists around, I am looking for someone to work with me in this project and let it take off as a comic like I truly hope.

- Archs -

2-Many : Having long abandoned his human given name, this Arch decided to call himself "2-Many" and demands others to do the same. Basically human in appearance save for Dark-blue skin and pointy ears, 2-Many is one of the few Archs not based off of an animal. 2 Boastful and egocentric 2-many enjoys any opportunity make himself appear "like a gansta" to perfect strangers. This loudmouthed arrogant Arch is in many senses a thug, preferring to get his hands dirty rather than rely on any kind of assistance. Due to his unique abilities, 2-many was the Arch on the front lines in the initial revolt against humanity.

Power - 2-Many, like his name suggests, can make duplicates of himself. This ability is seemingly endless and the limits of this power is still unknown.

Personal Weapon - None, 2-many uses his own fist and overwhelming numbers to literally beat his foes to death.

Phobos : A large musclebound humanoid Tiger is dangerous enough, but Phobos has unique abilities that make him an incredible danger. His Fur pattern, instead of normal, is a violet and dark purple stripes, inspiring the nickname "The Cheshire Tiger". A skilled Hunter, Phobos uses traps, trained dogs, and scare tactics on his quarry to not only capture his prey of the day, but also have fun with them as well. Phobos takes great pleasure in placing a single human from his territory on an island and seeing just how long they can elude him and reveling in their fear.

Power - Phobos Gives off a gaseous toxin that causes terrifying hallucinations when inhaled or touched. This can be avoided with a Haz-mat suit, but a Haz-Mat suit is easily torn during the hunt.

Personal Weapon - Phobos uses a strange extra-long Whip as his weapon of choice. He can do so much more with this weapon than merely harm his prey. He is known to ensnare his Victims with it and loves the fear the weapon inspires by merely looking at it.

(Of course I'll post even more later. I think we are Due for a lady Arch or two, aren't we?)

The Challenge of The Day:

Write a poem or a short story about a worm, bird, exotic tree, and rain.

The Whittling Worm

A witty whittling wiggly worm
whittled its way out a limb.
Wherever it went was where it was sent,
by its wildly whimsical whim.

But then one day a bird came by
soaring swiftly though the air.
With its bird's-eye view, and some tricks it knew,
it pecked with much despair.

The whittling worm would wiggle,
and plummet from leaf to leaf,
on the exotic fruit tree's foliage,
robbing the bird of its beef.

Our flustered feathered friend
finally flicked its beak in some fruit,
and found the tasty morsels
to be an easier prey to loot

The wiggle worm whittled some more,
before a raindrop fell on its leaf,
and then the sky began to pour,
and caused the worm some grief

The water droplets flooded together,
and washed the worm away,
and no one knows where the poor thing went,
not even to this day.

I could have hardly come up with it yesterday without knowing what you were going to be asking for, a worm, a bird, an exotic tree, and rain.

It took about 15, maybe 20 mintutes to write. I didn't clock myself.

Writing on the Fly
by Abracadabra

Writing on the fly
is an impulse to be sure
It's like a drunken cryptic author
who's a loose loquacious whore

He's high on words he writes for nerds
as he wallows in this thoughts
He writes them out without a doubt
no vacillation in his plots

His thoughts begin to dribble
like linguistic flowing blood
Rushing from his fingertips
to coagulate like mud

The plot beings to thicken
and coalesce into a tale
his words become sweet sentences
as he sips his verbose ale

Sharing all his secret dreams
with readers near and far
typing in so swiftly
that it's almost too bizarre

Five minutes have deceased
since this poem first began
and nary a thought was given
to bestowing it a plan

Abra (6/27/08)

A 5-minute ramble.

Amazing work. I don't have that ability to write poem first of all and then on impulse. You probably could come up with a whole book full of poems and even publish it if you really wanted to! I like this alot!

I could write a little book on "How to write poetry", and reveal all my little crutches and methods. laugh

Of course, I've been doing it for so long now that I no longer need the crutches so much anymore. But the crutches definitely got me to where I am today as far as being able to write rhythmically.

I think on of the biggest things to poetry is simply finding the right words to use. This is especially true if you're planning on rhyming.

So having a rhyming dictionary nearby is an absolute must, especially for somone who's just starting out. An online rhyming dictionary is nice too because it's so readily available and quick. There are plenty of them on the web.

The other thing that I use a lot of is the thesaurus in my word processor.

Give me a paragraph or two. Something that conveys an idea. It can be anything at all. I'll try to make it into poem for you and show you how I did it (step-by-step)

Now watch,... whenever the pressure is on I won't be able to do it. laugh

It is the first time I have ever heard of a ryhming dictionary! I am looking online now. Yes a small book on how to write poems would be a great idea. Maybe a pocket book even to take along with you at all times laugh laugh

The Challenge of the Day:

Write a poem or a short story about african animals using the word mazy in it.

The shimmering moon labors to give birth to its nocturnal glow though a canopy of thick tropical foliage. The creatures of the night awaken, not by the light of the silvery orb, but by the cool clammy breeze of twilight. An aardvark scuffles o'er the forest floor in search of sustenance. Its nostrils keen for the scent of rotting logs where its prey is sure to be found. Stopping momentarily in periodic pauses, it listens for potential carnivores that could render it their meal for the night. When it senses silence it moves forward sniffing and prowling for prey. Its long slender snout sinks into a rotten log as its tube-like tongue slithers into the honeycombed wood. The sticky tongue returns with tasty termites temping the creature to reach deeper into the labyrinthine timber. Every luscious lick retrieves a greater multitude of insects and lava. That aardvark's mouth waters as its tongue shoots through the mazy fissures of the fibrous log with lightening fast undulations. Its claws tear at the timber, pulling the rotted splinters of wood apart, as it gorges on the scrumptious live delicacy it was fortunate enough to stumble upon.

Am I the only one taking on these challenges???

Friendly aliens?

Friendly aliens might exist
But for the most part I must insist
For those of you who make such a fuss
I am more incredulous.

If they say they are friendly, for what its worth
It’s still a game for control of the earth.
Don’t trust them because in the end
They are really not going to be your friend.

Some of them even want your worship
But humans need to get more grip
On the reality of the situation
And realize they have infiltrated the nation.
