laugh Celibacy is "sexual release"laugh

Well, if you allow that celibate priests can masturbate then that's a different story.

Most people use the term 'celibacy' to mean to refrain from any sexual activity whatsoever, and that would mean no sexual release.

So yes, for most people Celibacy = No Sexual Release.

Masturbation is out. Sorry.

Abra just answered that.

laugh Thats a crock and nothing has been provenlaugh

They have enough evidence to convince me. bigsmile

I guess we all choose to decide what we accept as "proof".

Besides it's perfectly clear that we are seuxal beings. That part can't be denied. So I still hold that to deny the creation is to deny the creator. Hardly a pious thing to do. flowerforyou

glasses: Im not talking about priests.glasses Im speaking of a religious devotion that has been practiced for thousands maybe millions of years by countless numbers of human beings who loved their gods more than they loved themselves.flowerforyou

 An act of love:heart:

flowerforyou Why is that so hard for some to understand?flowerforyou

So?

That doesn't mean that their supersitions were healthy. drinker

People used to burn other people at the stake in the name of Gods too?

Does that make it a healthy or pious thing to do???

How do you not see the reality when it is due : how many boys and girls were sexually assaulted by church people because of this notion of crazy celebacy ?. Come on be realistic and see things as they are .

Christians that are truly born again, want to please God, simply because they Love the Lord.

True born again christians are still in the world, but not of the world...meaning they have no desire to partake of the world's ways anymore...they wish to please God....because they have become new creatures in Christ.

Born again christians may still sin, but will never choose to "willingly" sin.....not without grieving the Holy Spirit living within a christian now.

When did I ever say it was an unloving act?

I merely said that it was unhealthy.

And then I also suggested that because it's unhealthy it's ultimately an act of disrepect toward the creator. But clearly the people who practice celebacy for pious reasons aren't thinking that way. I understand that.

I'm just hoping to awaken people who might think that it's pious.

I certainly wouldn't have any disrespect for a person who practices celibacy. Hell, I practice celibacy myself (er,... well maybe not if we count masturbation laugh )

In fact, if we count masturbation I'm pretty darn healthy. bigsmile

I know you're not picking on me Mirror.

I'm not picking on you either. I'm just blowing my stack like I always do. smokin

flowerforyou Humans seemed to have evolved or developed religion/spirituality as a means of overcoming their base animal desires and urges, even their basic survival instincts. flowerforyou Its a perfectly natural phenomenon unique to human beings. flowerforyou

flowerforyou I would have to disagree with you about it being unhealthy. flowerforyou Living in a hypersexual society is what is unhealthy.flowerforyou Why do you think people of devotion generally try to live apart from mainstream society? flowerforyou It makes practices such a celibacy much easier. flowerforyou
