Ghenghis Khan? Hitler? ...you don't have to go back so far for examples of unbridled evil thought...Look around...Syria, Iran, N. Korea, Burma, Chad, Sudan....Freedom? doesn't exist...if this thread appeared in anyone of these countries, nary a soul would dare to put forth their expression...maybe because they have no concept of freedom.Something we all take for granted....and everytime we defend this high cost "product" those that take it for granted bellow about how unjust it all is...I guess we should just lay down our freedom for marxism or socialism...which seems to be the current trend.

Add U.S.A and NATO for the killings of innocent men ,innocent women and innocent children . Do not hide the truth . We are adults and not in Kindergarten .

sam53...you can cry like a kindergarten kid...you seem to have the same common sense as one...as thousands of innocent men, women and children die every minute of every hour of every day in places like Burma, sudan, Somalia by brutal dictators (like Saddam) who enslave, kill, rape and torture on genocidal scales....while people like you can't see anything beyond the nose on your face.

Look at Omar al-Bashir, in Sudan, Look at what Slobodan Milosovic did in the Balkans, or Charles Taylor in Liberia, or Mobutu Sese Seko in Zaire.

Those are just a few over the last thiry years or so, its horrible what people do to one another over little differences

It seems a weak soul is among us, a barbarian who refuses to change

Brandon, no, he is not a barbarian. Your thoughts and hopes are genuine and credible, but Brandon, the world will never be the way you hope.

Yes, we must do our part, "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me."

Words and music by
Sy Miller and Jill Jackson
1955

"Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me,
Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father, brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother, in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now,
With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow,
To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me!"

But, that peace will not be obtained till God fulfils His plans for this earth.

My own son, who passed away at age 19, wrote and essay on world peace. Brian's words "....it [world peace] is found inside your hearts and inside your minds, so look deep for it and maybe someday it will be possible."

Brian was optimistic and realistic.

Lindyy says:

Jesus WASN'T. Jesus IS!! (and He certainly is NOT political)

Ephesians 4:28
He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must WORK, doing something useful with his own hands.....

1 Thessalonians 2:9

Surely you remember, brothers, our toil and hardship; we WORKED night and day in order NOT to be a BURDEN to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you

There is even scripture that says 'if you do not work, you do not eat.' Does that sound like a socialist?

2 Thessalonians 3:10
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not WORK, he shall not EAT."

Calling or labeling Jesus in any form of political verbage is blasphemous aginst the Lord Jesus.

I get sick to the stomach when people try to put political labels on Jesus. sick sick sick

Did you see the news?

Gary Cass, former head of the Center For Reclaiming America at Coral Ridge Ministries, has launched an online petition drive to get evangelical Christians picked as vice presidential candidates.

Cass said neither Republican John McCain nor Democrat Barack Obama meets his criteria as a good Christian. "I don't think either of them are true Christians," he said. "So the best we're going to get out of this election cycle is an evangelical Christian running for vice president."

How about this brutality?

Brutal US attack on unarmed Afghans captured by photos - By Tom Coghlan in Kabul Tuesday, 8 August 2006 Independant Newspaper

or this ...

" A Brutal U.S. Torture Center
The U.S. is holding 630 prisoners—more than twice the number being held at Guantánamo—at the Bagram Air Force Base, north of Kabul in Afghanistan. The prisoners are crammed into wire cages, forced to sleep on the floor on foam mats and, until about a year ago, to use plastic buckets for latrines. Some have been detained for up to five years. They have never been charged with crimes. They have no access to lawyers. They are barred from even hearing the allegations against them." - New York Times article (“Prison Expands in Afghanistan,” 1/7/2008)

or even this?

Confessions from U.S. Soldiers in Iraq on the Brutal Treatment of Civilians By Chris Hedges and Laila Al-Arian, The Nation. Posted July 13, 2007.

Interviews with 50 Iraq war veterans reveal disturbing patterns of behavior by US troops in Iraq against innocent civilians -- brutal acts that often go unreported and almost always go unpunished.
