(Just a warning I'm going to be sensitive here for a sec) Why when you know there is no hope to have someone, do you stay in contact with them? They irritate you, they annoy you, but overall, you know the day will come when you won't talk to them anymore, but you carry this hope that someday....... chaulk it up to sado-masochistic obsession...I know it works for me!!!!

(Just a warning I'm going to be sensitive here for a sec) Why when you know there is no hope to have someone, do you stay in contact with them? They irritate you, they annoy you, but overall, you know the day will come when you won't talk to them anymore, but you carry this hope that someday....... chaulk it up to sado-masochistic obsession...I know it works for me!!!! and in the honeymoon suite .. the masochist says "hurt me" the sadist says "hehe....NO!"

Lily, I've done that, too. I think part of it is comfortability. The other part, I believe, is we're looking for that "thing" that will evidence we didn't make a completely wrong choice the first time around - something redemptive in the person or the relationship.

It is depressing sometimes though when you finally do come to the realization its not going to happen!!!

perhaps its fear of letting go to the past,sometimes we convince ourselves it was better than it was because we have nothing else going on in our lives,so we drift back ...eventually something else comes along and life goes forward in a new direction .....
