It has been 871 days since Obama has been to Iraq, yet he still refuses to go back and talk to our troops, give them encouragement and do some fact finding himself. Even after Senator John McCain offered obama to go with him to visit the troops so obama could see first hand what is taking place - obama feels it is not necessary for him to go there.

Wow, what a great stand to take on foreign policy, homeland security, war on terrorism.

ALSO, obama, who is the chairmn of an oversight committee on Afghanistan since the beginning of 2007, to date, has NOT HAD ONE oversight hearing on this matter.

What a great relationship to build with our military, and this individual wants to be the Commander in Chief? Commander in Chief of what?????

Tinkerbell thinks she could do a much better job. So do I.

Lindyy,

Obama is considering a visit to Iraq this summer.

In light of this fact, don't you think it's rather disingenuous to state that he "refuses to go back and talk to our troops"?

Now Hiker,
Didnt we discuss this last night?
You cant expect the Bushies to read all the facts!!!laugh

Just those contained in the indoctrination misinformation leaflets!!laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Anything else and they cover their eyes, place their fingers in their ears and sing, La, la, la, la I CANT HEAR YOU!!!

Sorry, Fanta. I forgot. laugh laugh laugh

Oh, Yippee. After the whole country is getting on him for his refusal to do so. CONSIDERING? LAME, VERY LAME.

No, actually it's the right-wing hate mongers getting on him. Pure partisan politics. Do you believe most of our soldiers won't be happy to get out of that hell hole?

Were you glad to get out of there?

Most I served with were glad to be there just as I was.

This war, the crowing achievement of this dreadful administration enriches the likes of **** Cheney’s Halliburton Corporation with no-bid contracts at the expense of over 4,000 American lives, thousands more Iraqis, lower standing in the world, and billions of wasted dollars. This inexcusable weakening of our nation is the legacy of George W. Bush.

When the drums were beating loudly with what we now know were lies about Iraq-9/11 links and WMD, Barack Obama had the courage to say no.

"Lies" that you nor anyone have proven. Again, a lie is knowingly saying something you know is false. If that and falsifying intelligence could be proven there'd be impeachment proceedings would go through and I'd be a staunch supporter of it.

How long do you give them to prove Iraq-9/11 ties or to find WMD's before you consider them illegitimate reasons for war?

Okay, we NOW know the WMD intelligence was bad as was the 9/11 link by defectors. However, before then it was a "slam dunk", all foreign intelligence services backing up the intelligence that Saddam had WMD.

Plus, Saddam was getting restricted items into his country from countries like France, who has government officials that got money under the table via the Oil for Food program. Kofi Annan's own son got Oil for Food money under the table, and has admitted to it.

I respect your opinion, but Congress and the American people were sold Iraq-9/11 and WMD, not "oil for food."

Well first of all, that is not true.

Second of all, it was the French Intelligence Service that set up a meeting of an Iraqi Diplomat with US intelligence services. Guy proved to be totally wrong, but he fooled the US, French, and German intelligence services. His name was Sabri, he was Saddam's Foreign Minister and in the pocket of intelligence services.

He either knew they had nothing or believed Saddam who would LIE through his teeth making everyone believed he had something to maintain his power and look powerful.

That is just one point, but that is one of the many. Many intelligence services believed Saddam was hiding something. There has been traces of WMD found in Iraq as well, though nothing to be the shocking discovery all services and the US administration thought was there.

Even UN Inspectors said they had a belief that there was something hidden, including Blix.

"In his last report to the UN Security Council, he recorded an open verdict over whether Iraq had WMD.

Saddam Hussein's regime might have hidden weapons, or it might have destroyed them, Mr Blix said." - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2980332.stm

Later he will cover his butt by saying his words were spun, but he did leave it open and saying that he really didn't know about if Saddam had or didn't have. He said it was quite possible, and did say that Inspectors were not allowed unrestricted access. They had to wait hours before being allowed entry to sites and people and trucks always were going out the backdoor before they went in the front.

Mossad and a Syrian reporter who defected to the Netherlands or some northern Europe country (forget which) says that WMD was shipped to Syria immediately prior to the war.

Senator Jay Rockefeller did meet with the President of Syria immediately prior to the war and told him that despite the events at the UN the US was going to go into Iraq no matter what. Speculation what the Syrian President did next with that info from a Senator of the United States.

The whole Syrian thing can be found in numerous stories and Jay Rockefeller's meeting with Assad:

"I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq, that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11." - Fox News Sunday Transcript with Jay Rockefeller full transcript: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1521893/posts

I'm doing the lesser of three evils, going with Mccain. Don't like his pro-green movement crap nor his wussiness around hardcore libs.

But its better than Mr. Empty Suit Golden-Boy Messiah Sending Chills Up Reporters Legs and Ms. Bullet Dodging Give Me Your Money Cause I'll Spend It Better Than You Can
