Especially to your children

I think it is wrong to keep lying to your children about Santa Clause.

It is not simply the lie itself. It's the loss of trust that does the damage in the end. It leaves the child thinking, "What a stupid idiot I have been to believe such a stupid lie."

And yet they believed and they trusted.

And what does Santa Clause have to do with Christmas?

Isn't Christmas Jesus's birthday?

Then later you learn that it really isn't, it's just celebrated on that date.

Actually, if you want to get technical, the idea, or Santa Claus, as americans call him, does exist. Just the story been made to appeal to kids, just like celebrating jesus birthday.

but i do agree that you shouldnt lie to kids, none of my niece or nephews believe in any mythical holiday character, not after the age 2, and they are perfectly fine.

At work I'm Santa's elf every year. We all dress up for the kids.. Its a lot of fun!!

I know he exists, I never met him but I know he's real, my mom told me. One easter morning I got up really early and I did see the Easter Bunny hiding eggs in my backyard, he was 6 ft. tall with really long ears. I'm not joking!

That was me.. I also play the Easter Bunny

And I saw Santa too. At the mall, in that restaurant, and in school. He was even on tv. Santa does too exist. I'm tellin.

If you believe Father Christmas exists then he does
If you don't then he doesn't.

Of course I tell my children that he exists in every charitable thing that we do it reminds them of Christmas and the good will amongst men

The commercialized society does not allow the spirit of what Father Christmas is all about to florish, because that is needed for a concentrated sales during the holiday period.

Jesus was born and that is a fact what does it matter if it is Christmas Eve or any other as long as it is not Feb 29th we can celebrate it.

One last point

Some of the least Charitable people that I have had the misfortune of meeting have happened to have been Chest bashing Christians who appear every Saturday of Sunday and fill the church. Take note not all as I said some.
