Topic: US soldier refuses to serve in 'illegal Iraq war' | |
---|---|
if you refuse to do your duty as a member of the military you deserve to go to jail. i dont care if you think it is wrong or not. if you are told to go you had better get ready pack your crap and kiss everyone goodbye. he is a coward. If the president told you to kill your first born I guess you would do that too... nobody said anything about charging them with war crimes it's the political motivations i'm questioning not the brave men and women in our military |

You know you can't fight city hall....haha, your statement makes about as much sense as trying to clean up the environment, the bad guys are gonna win, cause it is easier to do something nasty than trying to undo it... |

I have to ask, Cplichristmd, If your CO orders you to shoot children, are you going to do it? How about American citizens? A member of your own family? Just want to know where you would draw the line in the sand so to speak. Thats not a stupid question at all...where would you draw the line |

Not looking for an arguement, looking for answers, where does following orders stop and thinking for yourself begin?
I wonder about this because I know that they've essentially ended the Posse Comitatus act, so it's not inconceivable that our military could at some point be operating on US soil. |

Really not here to fight, I have a son, who is 17. I just really disagree with what Bush has done and the way they keep deploying our kids...and I realize they want to go...but I don't condone it...there are other battles to fight now... |

Above refers to refusing to follow an 'unlawful' order. If he can prove that orders to deploy and take action in Iraq fall under conditions of unlawful order then he has a chance. However, Good Luck!! Guaranteed that U.S. Government has better lawyers than he can employ. |

I hate this war, but I am a vet and this kind of **** can not be tolerated.
It is not his place to fight the politicians. His is to do his duty. I will and do fight the politicians for him and all my brothers. All American civilians should, not the soldiers... |

It's not about serving, it's about listening to some idiot tell us we need to kill innocent people when it really is not necessary...war is propaganda...and I would fight if I were drafted..am too old now...however I still feel there are other ways to solve the problems we face...the war has been going on for too long...everyone knows it...you'd be a fool to think otherwise...and some of the countries that we really need to watch we aren't, where that crazy red guy is, forget his name, bush is too scared to go there, cause they will nuke us for sure... You really have no idea what you are talking about, you have bought into the mainstream media propaganda. If all the anti-war crowd had kept their mouths shut rather than get on TV every chance they could, emboldening our enemies every time they do by showing that you are unwilling to defend yourself against fascist murders, maybe, just maybe this war would be mostly won by now. Your kind speaks of learning lessons, you even point to Vietnam. So here is a lesson from that war for your crowd. Once it was over, and we left, the leaders of the north told us......." We had lost hope, were ready to surrender. Until we saw the news reports on American TV showing that America had lost her will to fight. We knew then if we could hang on long enough, we would prevail. One more point here, President Kennedy spoke in an interview with Walter Cronkite in the early stages of that war and everything he said in this clip was true, it became true and is the advice that should be followed now as well. Here is the link to that. Pay very close attention to the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG7jjF6xuKM |

Taking orders from nuts such as Donald Rumsfeld and his gang is
just weird and bizarre to say the least : men and women should not obey crazy orders from crazy gangs !. !. |

Every choice in life comes with a certain outcome, positive or negative, good or bad. He made a choice, bad outcome. He can still choose though, as he can question whatever he would like...Free.

Just want to know where you would draw the line in the sand so to speak. Number three war, Army's General Orders 1. I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved. 2. I will obey my special orders and perform all of my duties in a military manner. 3. I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructions to the commander of the relief. No, an order given by a superior that violates the law is not permissible and could not be used as a defense to your guilt if you shoot a child. |
