This is all a learning experience. Being succesful by accumulatng stuff like money, toys, or a big house has nothing to do with the big picture.

Thank you.......so then what is the big picture........

And your name fits perfect for this what_is_life....

Well I would hope there is way more to it then just what I stated. And that doesn't take away the beauty of all that we do in our lives. It just seems to me....that there is more......to come.

hmmmmmm

what do you think life is about ? cause every soul has it`s own destiny,..it`s a seed that grows inside you since the beginning of time

well I already know the answer for myself....But I wanted to hear and learn what others thoughts were on it.

And for what? I am all for learning and especially from past mistakes....but like I said...really think hard before you answer...because the ending is still the same. Which leads me to believe that their are greater things after this....

People who dream of tomorrow or live in the past waste their precious moment of Now.

It's not a waste if that's how they enjoy spending their now. :tongue:

Could this possibly be all there is to life.

Isn't that enough?

Sheesh! You give people a really cool existence with lots of family and friends and they want more???

Sounds like spoiled brats to me. grumble

And if so what is the purpose?

The purpose if to enjoy it.

And if not what is the purpose?

If there is an ulterior motive for life you'll probably be better off not knowing what it is anyway.

~~~
I have a cousin who is always posing questions like this. He argues that there must be something more to life than just life itself. He argues that there must be a heaven to that makes life worth living. I might add too that this fellow is quite well off financially. He has a really nice wife, and three great children who have all grown up to become successful in their own right. He has a cushy job teaching philosophy at a college.
Yet in spite of all this life isn't "good enough", he still thinks that it would all be meaningless if there isn't something more to it.
Where's the rolling eye icon? I kneed one really bad right now! huh
I'll never figure people like this out. They have everything anyone could ever dream of and it isn't enough. That's because they think they are going to die when their body dies. Silly people!
If life needs something bigger in order to make it more meaningful, then Heaven would need something bigger to make it meaningful, and so on,… ad infinitum,
People are so afraid of dying. Can't they see that dying is impossible???
It's as clear as the nose on your face. But then again, you probably can't see that either without the aid of a mirror.
All you need is a spiritual mirror so you can see your true essence, then you'd know that you are eternal.
Unfortunately I can't hand you one. There is no such physical device. You can only find it in your spirit. But once you know your spirit then you'll no longer need the mirror. :wink:
Don't worry about death. It’s not the nemesis it appears to be. bigsmile
There was never a time when you were naught, and there will never be a time when you will cease to exist.
Time itself is but a illusion. flowerforyou
Isn't that enough?
ANSWER: Of course it is.....But that wasn't the meat of the questions I asked.....that is why I said to think first.
Sheesh! You give people a really cool existence with lots of family and friends and they want more???
Sounds like spoiled brats to me. grumble
ANSWER: I was not speaking of me personally here....I am truly blessed no doubt about it...I have a wonderful life no doubt about that either...I live, I learn, and I will leave at that.....I am not going to give what I think......
And if so what is the purpose?
The purpose if to enjoy it.
If there is an ulterior motive for life you'll probably be better off not knowing what it is anyway.
ANSWER: Again I think this is getting lost on most people...
We live and breathe on the leading edge of creation itself. People who dream of tomorrow or live in the past waste their precious moment of Now.
The breath you take, the time you spend, the world you see, the things you do and feel and experience. The choices you make, the joy and the sorrow. The adventure of life is not enough for you?
This is the greatest adventure and greatest joy of all. Life itself. Learning to live and love and create. We live many lives and life itself is the adventure.
The purpose of life is to find joy.
It is the approach and the enjoyment of life along the way that matters. We grow from each tiny experience along the way. The cycle repeats with each new human and we are the wisedom for the next generation.
But to answer your question, yes, that is all there is if you want to put it that way. How does a religion make it any different? It doesn't. We still do all you listed to the best of our ability and then we die, religion makes no difference to that process.
They have already spent their past. It is memory. Think of it, but don't live in it at the price of this moment.
The future is but a dream, a promise, a probability. It is yours to create. But to only think and work and worry for the future, can be at the price of the present moment.
Don't loose the moment.flowerforyou
Stop and smell the roses. Enjoy this moment.
Yes, I am very sure. I know for me that there is no ether spirit, onmipotent god, etc.... Now if you want to talk about the spirit of life, I may have something to say about that. Life is a blessing to each of us, not by a god, but the fact that we live is the blessing to each of us and this spirit in each of us is the added component to us. Our life is the force that is the extra, not a god.
The purpose of life is to give to it your all. There is nothing more. Enjoy, Learn, Grow, Share, Love, and much more until it ends. And when it ends know that you gave everything you could and shared as much of yourself as you could and be satisfied that you did it all. That is it.
