personally i don't care marry whomever you wish. I would like some clarification though where does it say in the New Testement that homosexuality is wrong..........I know it's in the Old Testemant but the new one kinda cancelled that out soo.......

I don't practice religiosity much so I'd really like to know.
look under corinthians. no homosexual will enter the kingdom of heaven

All I can say before people assume that everyone who reads the bible is the same is CONSIDER THE SOURCE of who's saying what...

Some people take things way out of context and some people don't pay attention to the whole big picture.

Really, does this childishness need to continue for several more pages?

A sinner is a sinner is a sinner... I'm pretty sure it says you're not supposed to judge, either, littleike, since you're supposedly quoting scripture

where in corinthians does it specifically state this. As best i can tell there are only three approx refrences to homsexuality in the new testemant (don't qoute me as i said i don't practice much) and all are only refrences none actually come outright and condemn in the original KJV.

EXCUSE ME??? The word homosexual was used for the first time in 1869. A man made that word up and placed it in the newly revised edition. I think.

Some people here know I don't have much use for the bible or deities, but for those of you who believe, doesn't it say "above all gain understanding" somewhere in there?flowerforyou

I don't see a problem with gays and lesbians getting married at all. Here in Canada it's been legal for quite some time.

KJV nowhere mentions homosexuals so i don't see how this can be used as a means of debasing them...........I know your not but i'm using your quote of the verse (thanks)

who is to say that "abusers of themselves with mankind" means practicing homsexuality it could mean dominance or any other such "abusive" act

Jesus' teaching in Matthew 22:36-40

36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38. This is the first and great commandment.

39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

If you want to preach the bible,or talk about God and sin, at least teach it wisely, Please.

Here's the thing - aren't you supposed to use the bible to learn how to conduct your own life? That is the only life you have to worry about. If your neighbor wants to do something different, it has nothing to do with you.

The State of California is not bound by the bible.

I've thought about this argument, and I believe I have a good point. First the Bible was written how long ago? Most literature is not written with the typical evolution of man/woman (topography, geography, social settings, etc.) so it was not written for taking into account that certain actions would lead to certain outcomes. It is a good basis but shouldn't be followed word for word. Just my opinion.

First off; the bible tells us that almost everything we do is a sin. In some form or other.

We humans are expected to fall and rise again and again.

I wonder why some people want to dwell on something that is mentioned only a few times compared to other stuff that is mentioned so many more.

The ten commandments does not say thou shat not be gay or homosexual.

It says:

ONE: Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

TWO: Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

THREE: Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

FOUR: Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
Six days thou shalt labor , and do all thy work:

Oh...the bible also says that we must adhere to mans law. Obey it. Gay marriage? Hmmmmmmmmmmm. So he tells us we must agree to sin because mans law says too? Helloooooo....Not. The commandments is where our most prominent sins holds.

There were gays and lesbians in biblical times as well.
Maybe the guys that wrote and rewrote the book were homophobes.laugh

So uncle Bob and aunt Jack can choose their insurance, joint file, and have a ceremony & certificate of their commitment. That's fantastic.

Now together they can live by their belief in the golden rule and remember to "judge not less ye be judged" from their childhood bible studies.

That is unless some hypocritical hateful thumpers persecute them with tales of eternal damnation....from the ecclesiastical messianic inside scoop they have that mandates they be "the flock's" moral compass.

Good thing Bob and Jack have a sense of humor and remember their Shakespeare - "For the devil himself may quote scripture to serve his purpose."
