It is legal and I do imagine that at this very moment there are ceremonies taking place. What impresses me is the low key way this was done. Instead of using the media they went through the legal channel. It worked.  I have to agree with Valerie. They aren't hurting us but I do worry about all the legal ramifications that come with this. My sister is a lesbian and is married BTW. I just don't like to see a man with a man kissing. It's a mental thing and the first step it to admit you have a problem. The next is do learn to deal with the problem.  It would probably make more sense to you if you were gay, or if your child was.

Frankly, the only person I can see who can judge the gays as "right" or "wrong" is God. So let him do the work. Okay JUST MY OPINION!!! Your so called "god" and "bible" have no right to judge anyone..that is so closed minded it makes me  No one has the right to judge anyone else..EVER! |

Frankly, the only person I can see who can judge the gays as "right" or "wrong" is God. So let him do the work. Okay JUST MY OPINION!!! I am on the edge about this. I am working on my own belief system. But to be honest; I can find nowhere that marriage was a legal issue anyway. I mean by the bible; which is where marriage is mostly conducted anyways. I mean church wise. It is between two people for procreation. With many marrying without wishes of children. So what? I think these gays and Lesbians are within their human right to be treated as first class citizens. As it is; they are seen and thought as second class. To continue to seperate them in this way, gives cause to too many to seek them out and treat them differently. I say "yaaa" let them have their lives as we have ours. Many of these people have been together longer than maost hetero marriages last. I think it may even give way to a rise in marriages between all couples. By not allowing all people to have marriage as an option, the importance of it has given way to living together by straights. Making marriage seem not important. People use constitutional rights as a way to get their way, and don't give others their constitutional rights to have what every single straight human has. I say go with it. Leave them alone. It isn't going to hurt straight people in the least. Kat Ike, keep in mind, not everyone in this country believes in the bible. Those who do have every right to live by it, but not to enforce it on others. |

You're out of your ever loving mind man. Gay people (most of them) are not choosing this way that they are. It is not even a lifestyle; it is the way it is. Is heterosexual, as lifestyle? Can you help the way you are? Can you change the fact that you prefer women? I doubt it. Neither can they. I believe that gay people cannot stop their sexual orientation. I believe it is born in them. I know plenty of them. Women sicken them, just the thought of sexual relationships with a woman gags them. They love women, they understand women in a way that most heteros cannot. Wonder why?? It's in the chromzones or genes or something. Nevermind: it is redundant to even try to tell someone why it is wrong to judge. Go right ahead. Time will tell us all if we were wrong. Kat I have heard this argument before. Ike let me ask you - do you think you could choose to be homosexual? Are you equally attracted to men and women, and you just picked women because the bible said it was ok? |

i don't understand why this is such a huge issue with "Christians" i happen to believe in the Bible, God and Jesus but i think i have NO right to condemn anyone for their lifestyle. i also think that if these "Christians" want to spend time, money and energy into things to lobby, how about world poverty, child endangerment legislation and oh the BIG one global warming. to me if we don't have enough food to feed people and take care of our children and our world, What is the POINT? |

Even though I don't agree with it being a good thing to be gay, I've had friends that are... I've just asked them to not flaunt their sexual side of it in front of me and they've respected that.
I believe very strongly in the bible... well... if you're banning it for religious beliefs, why would you consider it worse than any other sin you commit every day? I think you'd need to figure out why you think you're so perfect. |

I personally know a gay man that was as gay as a very small child as he is now. It is rarely mentioned in the old testament. The new one is where it lies. I do not follow the new one as much as I do the old testament. The new one judges and changes the ways man treats women. Pffffhhhhhttt, I say. God knows our lives before we are born. Would he choose to let us fall between the cracks? One must know they are wrong before it will send them to hell for it. Kat |

There is no tolerance for anyone that is different. that is the one thing that we are all going to have to learn, until we evolve(spelt that wrong), we are all going to have to relize that there is going to be diffrences in all of us and there is nothing we can do about it.
