Feral, your still imposing your opinion of "dark" into the beliefs of others. Wouldee, judaism as you put it, has changed and evolved, there are passages in the bible that have been disregarded, such as the statement that a man should take more than one wife rather then commit adultery, is the one that comes to mind but there are others. Religion is a faith based belief. NOONE is more right then any other. They are all the same. I am putting the information out there....what people do with it.......is entirely up to them.....And I don't judge for anyone's beliefs....not my job. Dragoness, point taken. society does evolve. practical applications was not where I was going though. merely pointing out an example as to how the Chrstian Church ought to view the world and the beliefs of others where their own behavior is concerned. I spoke to Judaism as a reference point which I can best fit how the point of the Church's responsibilities are best focused. Meaning, not judging others and yet exercising good judgement. Christianity is very busy policing itself constantly.

And your proof that "my religion" killed yours....where do you people come up with your information. And why such hostility....I have no anger....I'm just answering what was put forth. And I don't assume anything.......I am answering the thread......And you sweets can pray to anything you want...I am not your judge.....And actually just for your information which I can pull up all the evidence if you require it...The Bible context has not changed in 2000 years. And now your assuming I worship buildings......hmmmm again you don't know one lil thing about be....so who is assuming here. I worship my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ......His Father God, and the true and unfalable word of God....(the Bible) I don't worship buildings.....and just so you can understand a lil about me......look at my name....I love God's planet and all that inhabit it...And I go out of my way to protect all that is living on this earth.......so be careful about casting the first stone... A little thing called the Inquisition is where yours killed mine. Another event in American History called "The Salem Witch Trials" those are the two biggest ones... but I'm sure I could name about a hundred more. The bible has many different "editions". I never said you worship buildings I said you worship in them. well I wasn't even born yet....so how could I or my people have ever been involved in that. And yes many people were killed in different things like you stated....but so were the Christians....look at today for example....Christians in Egypt are spit on....They have to sneak to go to churh.....And I know because I was one of those ones spit on. Just for wearing a cross around my neck. So don't talk to me about mine killing yours........Go to Egypt or alot of places and see the killing of my people as you call them.... |

So do Pagans IN THIS COUNTRY I know a woman who was a professor at Youngstown state, a beautiful soul, who on more than one occasion had her tires slashed, her car spray painted "Satanist" So you want to equate Egypt to the US where wer are supposed to be more enlightened well, that is also not quite a fair debate either. Should we even talk of hate crimes??? I don't know of many Christians being killed in hate crimes... I do see where Christians kill others in crimes of hate... ie abortion clinics ect ect.. That is neither here nor there, however. The origanol question is is Voodoo a religion or a cult. And it is a religion.... by many different standards. Funny thing... Why is it that most non main stream religions accept Christianity, but Christianity does not accept them? Hate is a scary thing... especially when one hates something they do not understand. That is prejudice, and that never ends well for anyone involved. |

True Christians have the Love of God in them, not hate  Lots of so called "christians" will stand before Jesus one day and God will say , " I never knew you". |

My point exactly, I see where "Pagans" and other religions are objects of hate only due to their beliefs, and these things are done in the name of "Chrisitianity"... After 9/11 a Muslum church was vandalized near where I live... Simply for being Muslim???? I know they are not the rule of thumb, so please don't misunderstand, I know ALOT of wonderful Christian people, my aunt for one is a saint, but she does not judge others based on their beliefs. I don't see Christians being objects of hate, simply becuase they are Christians...that's all I'm saying. |

JB I fully agree, and the same can be said for Pagans or any other group for that matter. My point is that when "people" don't understand something, they want to ruin it. Not all, and not one group... My point in it's entirety was that prejudice is the only thing I know to be EVIL. To what degree does not matter. To spout off about a religion that you do not fully understand is wrong. To say that Pagans are Satanist is ridiculous... Most Pagans don't even believe in Satan or Heaven and hell, those are Christian concepts. I have studied for many years, I am clergy for my religion, and to do this and be accepted I had to understnad other religions, I find alot of them to be very beautiful, just not my beliefs. Feral, I personally invite you to ANY ritual you would like to come to with me, I think you will find the energy that is produced very positive, and affirming of good loving people, and not of an evil nature... That we pray for those that are sick, or need our prayers no matter what THEIR religion is. Most Pagans don't have fully Pagan families, and ALL are welcome and treated the same. |
