very seldom do i uppercase anything

and if it is an issue with the deity in charge

then i would have to say

if said deity is that petty then said diety deserves not said respect

just a thought

but hey

what do i know

Well at least you speak clearly and not in parables.

Being a writer, using no capitols at all just look lazy to me, or like a person who can't type well. That's okay, lots of people can't type, no big deal.

Yeh, I'm starting to get arthritis myself, but whatever stupid impression I have its just my own little quirk.

I have just trained my brain to correct things like that, and even when people misspell words in their quotes I am often tempted to right click and correct the spelling.

I suppose I need professional help. laugh laugh

I am not angry with you funches. laugh I see you for what you are. an argumentative person. The substance of the discussion matters not to you, it is the arguing that gets you excited. You would argue about the color green if that argument presented itself to you. You ask a question and it gets answered so you ask it from another angle, and another, and another, then when you run out of angles you throw in something that makes no sense concerning your original question. That isn't debating.flowerforyou

"star_tin_gover" ...first you call me every name but Jesus and now you try to dictate how I should debate...so now that you claim that you are not angry with me and got over your little temper tantrum can you get back to the topic before the justsayhi moderator gods step in ..

my point that god referred to himself as "I Am" and not as "god" was a valid point and was not said to cause any trouble ..and that was my point that only a vain god would worry about how a name the he himself did not say to Moses was spelled

ok... doesn't anyone else find it disrespectful when ppl spell God with a lower case g?

maybe its just me and my religious background.

...not all nouns need to be capitalized.

understandable. however, what tipped off the post was because someone that im'ed me was referencing the Bible, i was taught that when referencing the Bible that God should be capitalized... I know that this has been a heated topic. I was just curious if anyone else got slightly irritated by it like me.

I know and respect that ppl are taught differently and that other ppl have different religions and religious beliefs.... there are just somethings that stick with you through life and I guess this is just one of them for me.

This is a valid point funches. I think the "I Am" and the 'I am' in each of us can agree, that God dwells within each and every person.

I do not capitalize god in any references I make because I recognize no gods for myself. To capitalize it would give a recognition that I do not have. I believe that if you are worried about it, please, capitalize it when you write it for your own peice of mind. JMO

Totally agree with you Tanya.God spelled eith a capitol lets people know that it's not a god[an idol]

that's fine for those who believe in that god but for those who don't it should be optional. It's not disrespectful for someone outside of your faith to write it any way they chose. Maybe their god is an idol.

I was referring to the God that is known by Christians and Jews.

oh but in that case you are (inadvertantly, I'm sure) being disrespectful to some- as many religious jews do not ever write or say the names of god- lower or upper case. There are other religions who have similar beliefs and traditions, namely that it is disrespectful to ever refer to god or the gods by name or directly.

But I personally don't find it disrespectful at all. We all have different beliefs. It would be nice if we could just respect the beliefs of others without being offended when they differ from our own...

Peace and joy. flowerforyou

I used to always refer to the Christian God with a capital 'g' and my vision of a pantheistic god with a lowercase 'g'.

I did this for several reasons, but the main reason is because the Christian God is an egotistical God who desires to be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and it's all about appeasing Him to the Hilt! So that's what that Religion is All About.

laugh

I used a lowercase 'g' to refer to the pantheistic god because the pantheistic god has no ego. It is an omniscient spirit that resides in everyone and everything.

I still prefer that convention, but I have refrained from trying to adhere to it. Now I capitalize or not entirely at my own whim depending on what I feel like when I’m typing. I think the same thing can be said about things like mother nature, should that be capitalized as Mother Nature? Or mother earth, shouldn’t that be Mother Earth?

I certainly wouldn’t complain about how other people chose to use case. I just do whatever feels right for Me. (ha ha) that felt silly, I don’t think anyone would want to capitalize Me.

talking about disrespect. i have read some posts that suggest that every single priest sexually molest altar boys.
If people don't see disrespect in such an statement, well I just can say "There is no worst blind than the one who does not want to see."
Even though there have been some priests who have done such perversion (and shame on them).
But this fact does not mean that every single priest has done it, does it, or will do it.
That is just a prejudicial and disrespectful statement of a false fact.
then again I just have a single question: Who are we?
we blame christians of being jugmental, and nonchristians fail with exactly the same mistake
who is the hypocrite then?
I think all of us at some point are blinded by the poison of hipocrisy.

People can spell "God" anyway they wish. It is their choice. I cannot place my value of "God" on anyone else. As they cannot place theirs upon me. Spell away, I say. Any ole way you wish. For me...it is "God".

If it offended me; then it would be saying I am trying to make a choice for them. It's my deal, it's their deal. So be it.

Should have paid attention in grammar school instead of playing with yourself under the desk. Names are capitalized. Stop acting like an argumentative child. I know you can't possibly be THAT stupid.......?

well playing with myself under the desk is better than becoming a priest and playing with little altar boys under the pulpit ....the way you are acting I sure hope you are not trying to represent how christians act on talk...especially since today is sunday

Get over yourself. Try to think outside of the Myoplex box and rather than infecting threads with childish jibberish and taunting why don't you try to act a little more mature and actually engage in a conversation? Are you a representative of non-Christians? I represent me and as me I am not beyond turning the other cheek to say "grow up you f*cking moron". How's that for a Christian perspective? laugh Avoid arguing with me. Your brain cell is taxed heavily enough by the simple act of breathing.

Some people who call themselves Christians are in fact not very nice.

Some are wonderfully nice.

Which kind am I seeing here?

What makes you think that Christians are different than anyone else? You would like to put them all in a box and dangle them like puppets but when you see that they are as human as you are you suddenly feel the need to remind them of how they should be "nice" because they are Christians when you give yourself carte blanche to not be "nice" simply because you are not a Christian? Hypocrisy is staring back at you from the other side of your mirror? No, don't expect this Christian to come straight from the pages of Little House On The Prairie. Treat me as you want to be treated and all will be well. flowerforyou

And I have treated you nicely. I have called you no names; I have told you repeatedly that I respect your beliefs. I am not certain at all what it is I did to you. I did initally confuse you with Smirnoff but I thought we cleared that up. And I did apologize. Yes - please treat me the way I have treated you. I would like that. flowerforyou

I think there is entirely too much intolerance, name calling, meanness and hypocrisy on both sides of the fence here. Why can't we just talk about ideas? Why do we all have to be right?
