You try soaking them in water with a load of baking soda dissolved in it.
Hope it works out, sorry to hear about it, too.

 ITS all but impossible, unless you replace all the carpets and padding, and re-paint the rooms..

Some furniture you can wash the zipped covers, and set the like,,,sofa out side for a day,,,rain permitting..

Some clothing will keep that smell, and some will wash out.

If you steam clean your rugs and re-paint all your rooms,,,then use air freshners,,,it will ALMOST be gone but a faint smell of burnt will remain for about a year.,,,yes,,been around this alot, but never lived where mine got burnt,,just family and friends...Good luck, and IF you can get in YOUR local paper with your LOSS...PEOPLE are very generous to give what they can or what you might be needing. flowerforyou

First off I am happy to hear you and your son are okay,,

Hugs sweetie,, I know its not much,, but my arms are extended to lift ya up flowerforyou

Vinegar,, baking soda and lemon juice all will do the trick on getting the smell out of your clothes as well as appliances,,, You can call a professional steam cleaning company and they usually can get out the smell in carpets and furniture,,, Not to pricey either,,,

Call the Local Red Cross they will help with food and other items you both may need,,

Local church's also will lend a hand,,

Hugs

Love & Light

consider yourself very lucky

a lot of the time when you open a door like that the place explodes with the rush of oxygen feeding the heat source

thankfully you did not get hurt

i am not belittling your loss but embracing you lack of injury

Girl I have referred others to churches before they had not stepped within one in years. They don't care about that they will help in more ways then you will ever expect them too. All they care about is that they could help one more in their time of need.bigsmile
