I am really starting to HATE where I live. I swear, people around here don't want to have anyone with tattoos working for them. I had a job and then because of my tattoos they told me it wasn't professional. This was at a redneck resturant.
I just went to another place, completely covered. no tattoos showing, and they asked if I could work weekends and I said no. But during the week I am open and they said sorry, you have to at least work one weekend day. I am a single mom trying my damndest to do what I can and I can't seem to catch a break. |

Hang in...something will fall from the sky. |

I am sorry.
That is why I quit 4-1-1. They were very unfamily friendly if the family consisted of only one mom and one kid. A lot of companies nowadays are not single parent friendly sweetie. But I am sure you will find another job! |

(((Bearhuggies))) for you!
I went through that years ago when mine were little. Can't beleive it still is'nt any easier for a single parent this day and age. |

I needed a job like yesterday. I have applied for everything I can in my area online and in the past week have applied EVERYWHERE in person. There aren't many options left.

employers can be very selective nowdays. there are so many people looking for jobs and willing to do most anything for a dollar. working weekends is almost automatic for new hires so the senior people can be off if they want.
dont get frustated it will take time to get a good job, and remember there is a lot of compatition for what jobs there are, best of luck to you kitten |

Honey, you keep at it. It is a good time of year for such things, and we will all think happy thoughts for you. If worse comes to worst, you have family close.
Try careerbuilder.com as well as your local papers. |
