Topic: We treat everyone like criminals now.

I hate shopping and I don't go anymore. Part of the reason is that everywhere you go, in the interest of "safety" the response is to treat EVERYONE like a criminal and assume that given the least little chance, everyone will break the law.

1. You go to a store like Target. This type of store is supposed to be the convience of one stop shopping. Now you have to pay for you medicine at the pharmacy counter, pay for your watch battery at the jewelry counter, pay for you electronics at the electronics boat pay for your flowers at the florist, and pay for the rest of the stuff at the check lanes. If I have to make that many seperate transactions in one location, why the hell go????? I can go to a seperate electronics store that is bigger with a better selection. I can go to a better grocery store. I might as well just make the extra stops.

2. Now they check your credit rating if you are going for a new job. If you have a bad rating they won't hire you. They don't bother to check into what is going on. Oh, this person has a bad number. That means they are going to be stealing credit card numbers, have their finders in the till, and probably embezeling from the company.

3. You can't take your breakfast into the airport to eat while waiting on a flight. They either make you get out of the line and go eat it, where there are no chairs and you end up having to scarf it down and then start all over in line or you can throw it away. I always take EARLY EARLY flights and just put my make up in my carry on and do it on the plain when they tell me we are nearing my destination. Now they make me check it or throw it away. If I have breakfast or make-up, I may be a terrorist!

4. This one really gets me. They don't want me to take my cross stitching stuff onto the plane. Even if I don't take a cutting tool. But I see tons of people with knitting on the plane. 12 inch or longer metal knitting needles, which are fully capable of going in an eye and scrambling a brain. But my tiny one inch tapestry needle is a national security danger.

5. Car insurance is now based on credit rating rather than driving record. My accident went of my record and my insurance jumped by 50$ a month because my credit rating went down since I switched jobs and make a 1/3 of what I used to make.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket. Not because it is getting more dangerous. It was ALWAYS this dangerous. It is because people are trying to prevent danger by treating EVERYONE as a criminal.

I'm so sick of it.

AGREED! It's just another way to promote the very rich, and keep the "unsavoty element", i.e. the working person, opressed!

Private companies can do it all they want to, because they want to protect their own best interests.
Having a new president will not change this. It's just another example of how big money controls everything and everyone.
Always has, always will.
The rest of us can just scrub the rich ppl's toilets. Once we're licensed, insured and bonded, of course.

people do take notice of what is going on, but to get everyone to make the move at the same time is the problem.........i think a good way to start is to just flat ass refuse to pay taxes, but all of us have to do it the same time........igrumble grumble

I agree. I work at walmart, nd I hate the restrictions we've put on customer service. That's why I do my job like I do. Sure; I maybe sarcastic nd everything. But, I will not enforce new rules. I am constantly telling the store manager that if we treat one person with a policy, then we must treat all people with that policy; not just pick and choose who has to follow what rules. Sure, when I make my snide little remarks people may get mad, but, you won't find many people that will help you the way I will. I mean, the other night, someone asked if they could pay for all of their items in electronics, and I sarcastically replied, "NO, you have to buy each item at a different register." She started to stomp off until I yelled,"Mam, I'm only kidding." But, it does annoy me that you people have to buy stuff at different registers.

I don't quite get the whole treating like a criminal heading for this topic. Doesn't exactly fit, whatsoever. Only one point was there a 'treating like a criminal' and that was with cross stitching...lol.

What a great topic and someone actually feels the same as I do.And I give alot of credit to the media for creating the enviroment that we now live in. Crime has always been with us.And basically in the same amount per capita. Some crime has even come down, per capita, yet you never hear about this! But with 24 news stations with 24hr coverage, they have brainwashed most of us into believeing that everyone, from your neighbor, the guy next to you in the grocery store, everyone-into possibly being a potential criminal that is going to harm you in some way or fashion.
I consider myself a very friendly person and alot of times I will go into the grocery story and say hi to most people that I pass or am standing next to. Well I must say that at least 80% of the time I get a look like I am from another planet and also if I get too close to someone then you can see that look of horror that I am going to steal their purse. Its so sad. And maybe I should be a little more cautious but when I do go to the grocery store I simply take my keys and waltz into the store with my window down. My car is not a junker but its also not brand new. Yet I see even the old junkers locked up tight,LOL. And I love it when I see someone go into a convenience store and lock the car up tight for 2 minutes. I also dated a girl who actually did a backround check on me. This took the cake and needless to say I told her to take a hike. She probably would have done a credit check on me also if she could.
Yep this country is going to hell in a handbasket and the fear that the media has induced in us is just one of the many instruments that the govenment is using to bring us down.It worked for Hitler and it will work for America. I fear everytime congress or even my city council gets together because I wonder which rights I am going to loose this time around so the goverment can make society safer. Yep, I am too stupid to think for myself,I need the government to pass more and more legislation to save my butt. I wonder how our parents ever got by! And I hear that they had fun, real fun. Today if you have fun then your doing something illegal. When was the last time you saw a bunch of girls playing hopscotch? Or boys playing football. Part of the problem is that parents won't allow kids to wander the streets like we use too. Funny, I or no-one I knew ever got raped or kidnapped, and we wandered the streets finding stuff to do. My signal to come home was when the street lights came on. Yet the news makes is sounds like it happens every day in every neighborhood. You can never be too safe,eh?
And camera's,camera's everywhere. Just my corner store alone has 6 camera's set up. The owner told me this. And soon every cell phone will have a tracking device in it so that society can watch my every move.
All in the name of fear. Gotta love it,eh?

Those that give up their freedoms in the name of security, get neither.

Slowly but surely we're moving directly into a police state and facsism, at some point we'll reach the point of no return... and then what?

The point you just posted makes your point ridiculous.

That is unless you disappear in the dark of night by federal forces, but yeah, not going to happen. I love how there are so many of the 'we are in a fascist state, our rights are gone' people in here, yet they continue to post things seemingly against 'the state' and life continues as normal. Well, at least normal when it comes to their already deranged state of thought processes.

They destroy their own points by posting them here.
