There is one thin that bothers me the most and I just have to say it. If you are in a public place with family or friends. Please speak English. I can't stand to be in a grocery line waiting and in front of are..lets say.. 5 people and they are all speaking spanish. I think that is so rude. You are in America and I would appriciate it if you speak the langue in public. I could give a **** what you do in the privacy of your own home, but in public speak English.
Well, BELIEVE THIS,,,THEY, probably CAN'T!!!!! Truth.

Totally agree with iam4u!
Worked with Guatamalians in earlier years that could not afford the education of learning a second language, so I, as an American learned their language. The comfort level changed dramatically when I was able to converse with them and actually discover their needs and their concerns.
We are a priviledged society compared to the lack of opportunities in which some have come from. Enjoy your education and expand your horizons by learning a second language!

I've been acrossed America and many cities,,,ALL the same thing I see everywhere..US BORN citizens, who because of our work places allowing it,,,THEY don't have to KNOW, or USE,,,ENGLISH at it, or in their neighborhoods or stores ,,,any place..
WE HAVE CHANGED FOR ""THEM""", and "THATS" just wrong.
As, WE COULD NEVER DO THAT, in ANY OTHER COUNTRY that WE WENT TO..
And I preach treating EVERYONE AS EQUALS,,,,

but NEVER would I say WE SHOULD ADOPT a NEW WAY for ANY GROUP of PEOPLE....

And If ANYONE lives here or WANTS to live here, then I believe that THEY SHOULD HAVE TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH US IN OUR LANGUANGE..

Just one thing to prove that, I drive a truck,,many other drivers from many countries also do, but IF I was having a heart attack and asking on my CB radio for HELP...And those fellas were on the CB THEY WOULDN'T know I needed help?????

It seems to me that if a person is going to be all hot and bothered in defense of our fair language, she should take the time to learn to spell it.

What would they do if we went to their country....sure they wouldn't like us talking in our language......speak American or go the hell back where you came from......grumble grumble

If I lived there I would learn the language

maybe they know the language but they were talking to each other, and are more comfortable speaking their native language. It's none of your business what language they choose to speak to one another in. And what I really don't get is why anyone cares.

or maybe they don't want people listening to the conversation or maybe that's what they are comfortable with. they have a right to speak what they want. I do think if they live in a country to try to learn the language. i have a korean aunt that would speak to her friends in korean in front of us. i had no problem with it though. she spoke english very well but like to use korean too

English is not our official language.

And do we really need to promote and "Us vs Them" mentality?

Why would you care if they were not talking to you? This country is suppose to be so open minded, and tolerant. Why cant people be who they are?flowerforyou

because it's rude, what if they are talking about you. Just speak english
You know, Fat people shouldnt be allowed to eat in public, and be charged more for everything, because their so huge.
bald people should wear wigs
Old people should be put in old people retirement camps.
single mothers should be look at as sluts
People with tattoos shouuld be treated like freaks
Black shouldnt complain so much
jews are greedy
all men with aids are gay
there will never be a Black pres, or Woman pres
Ugly people should just be happy to have someone
Blondes are really stupid
Woman are still 2nd class citizens
Send then all back where they came from
Can anyone think of anymore. come on you can do itbigsmile

This is America. We speak English in this country because we were founded by England! Americans had a better idea so we kicked the British out. We still speak English but no where in the Constitution does it say that I as an American have to learn Spanish. If I was planning a long trip to Mexico I might think about it.When I served in Germany in the Army I took great pains to learn the german language for the simple fact that I wanted to communicate with the local populace. Just my 2 cents

why put horse crap in your mouth when you can eat steak? I think most of us prefer our native language, even if we are fluent in another

founded by england? Really? You sure about that? Perhaps the language should be one of the native american dialects then?
