Depends on your attitude about life. If life experiences are what you value then yes it is better to have experienced love at least once in your life. If you value that which you can hold onto regardless of it's happiness then no it is not best to have loved and lost.

I mean...is knowing what your missing a good thing ? well for starters i guess it would depend on rather it was even a "good thing". i've loved a couple of women and lost them and i can honestly saying knowing what i'm missing makes me the happiest man on the planet. as far as being better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all? i'll take never having loved at all over having to be with them..... |

Yes. Without a doubt. You remember the movie City of Angels? Where Nicholas Cage gave up immortality to experience love?
To never to have loved at all is to not have one of the greatest gifts bestowed upon us that we also have the grace of giving. To not have loved can make us bitter and lack empathy... It is rare that two people, unrelated to one another... can love without condition. Is is an awesome, stupendously wonderous thing. To be loved that way, that great love... is to know security and comfort; passion and excitement. It is to know parts of you that you did not even know were there and to give of yourself without limits. It is a compliment and a push for you to strive to always be a better person. To live for another person's happiness in order to have it yourself. Passion, pleasure, knowledge, education.... all wrapped up in a tangled woven web of another's life. And to not doubt that. Allen... of course. It is better to have loved, to have felt this love or to receive it... for an hour of a life than never before. It is what makes us human.

He shouldn't have tested fate. She was taken from him, because of his behaviour. He thought it was worth it, but SHE lost her life because of it.... |

Having been loved and lost it I rather it be that way so next time I know what it means and understanding what I'm feeling so I could fully appreciate it this time around if it happens to me again.
