any time you loan money, in your mind...consider it a gift. she may be in a worse financial spot than you really know.

in the long run, $142 isn't enough to lose a friend over.

if not getting paid back bothers you, don't loan money. it's worth letting the money go just to get rid of the negative feeling.

some days i avoid this thread...because i don't want to think about it for a while.

we had more tests last week, and i found out raegan also has a hole in her mitral valve and her other valves are weak, not closing all the way.

she also sees an ortho in november for scoliosis.

have relatives in the Military?
do we count those that were in the military, as well?

currently, the only relative i have overseas is my cousin jamie. my cousin kevin is retiring from the marines...

many other members of my family have served. i'm really glad my brother isn't in anymore.

yeah why not!

Both of my brothers and I served in the military. My older brother was in the international (back then) under NATO command, while I was in the National Guard, my younger brother in the Reserves and served in Iraq 2 years.

Every single male member was in the military in my family. My grandfather was executed in a prison in 1956, my other fought in WWII. My great grandad fought in WW1.

my brother was a crew chief in the army, six years in germany and thirteen months in bosnia. this was his best friend and his crew: http://www.sapphire-designs.com/denise/tribute.html he would call me at three in the morning with tales i never needed to hear at that age...

my father was in the marine corps for twenty-two years, serving three tours in vietnam.

my uncles were navy and army...

my cousin has spent well over twenty years in the marine corps.

my daughter is considering joining...and i'm not steering her in either direction, but i hope she doesn't. she has a young son who needs her here.

i thank you for your service.

but keeps blowing me kisses? I see you can block someone if they send you an email, but what about these kisses from a guy who doesn't at all meet my profile requirements?
LindaLLL, you absolutely can.

Click on his profile, and to the right there is a link that says "REPORT THIS USER". Click on that link. Once you click "Submit Report", it will allow you to block the person in question.

We've implemented a new email verification system. Please follow the simple steps so that we can be sure we have your correct email.

This is not a mistake; it's just something new. Just make certain you are using a valid email account and that our emails are not blocked before clicking the "UPDATE AND SEND ME AN EMAIL" button.

"That their gonna throw it back to you,
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do,
---
Backbeat the word is on the street that fire in your heart is out,
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt..."

---Lyrics purposely chopped.

Have you ever been hurt so bad that you can't collect your thoughts about it? I'm sure most have been hurt, some even bad, but have you ever had an issue figuring out why, or how it happened? Can't figure out where it started, and why it ended so badly?
yes.

when ben committed suicide...i crumbled. i would lose my breath, sit down...and stare off. it would feel like a second, but literal hours would pass. i lived in a haze...i wanted no company, no voices...just silence. music hurt my ears, voices annoyed me...

after the numbness, i still couldn't meet anyone's eyes. i didn't want to see what they were thinking. i knew there was pity, but i didn't care. i hid away for a little over a year, and then i had to go back to work...and that helped. gave me something to grab on to, dragged me back into the public. i started fighting for myself, then...to get ME back.

now, i can think about the aftermath, but i can't think about what really happened...my mind still tries to skate past it.

surprised ... Woah, that's horrible Lulu ...

That must have hurt SO badly?

At least the pain of memories aren't as potent as the first, real round, uh?!
it was...horrible. i was in second grade, and wasn't a very happy camper. mom had told my uncle that he wasn't allowed to give me the leaves, since i was pretty hyper-allergic.

he didn't listen.

i went for several years not being allowed outside in the summer, for fear that i'd come in contact.

kristi, when i was a kid i was hospitalized with internal poison ivy...

my uncle made all of us kids, every season, chew the leaves and swallow the juice, as a way of becoming immune. i almost died from it.

forgiveness doesn't necessarily mean keeping them in your life.

i forgive to let go. i choose not to feel negativity...and then i go on with my life. that way, i'm not thinking or dwelling or worrying about it...it's done, it's over, and it's out of my head.

i did have one gentleman come up and say, "you're that moderator-chick from mingle!"

he emailed me the next day and asked if he could buy me a beer.

it was a bit strange being recognized, lol...

I just got nugded so I checked out the person's profile. In it, it said to email the person you must be 15-60 yrs oldnoway

Isn't it illegal to date a 15 yr old if your over 18?????!!!

I know most of us have seen or heard of TO CATCH A PREDATOR by Chris Hansen!!! Has anyone learned their lesson from that? I worry for my daughter!!!
kacie, the young lady in chapter two of the book you mention...was a wonderful young lady whom i knew personally. i work with her aunt, and she died a couple miles from my home.

i encourage everyone to read the book. i made my children read every bit of it...before even considering letting them online, supervised.

that said, mingle2 only allows adults on the site, so no matter what a user's preference is, he won't be hooking up with kiddos here.

If a kid lied about their age, could they get past the screen? How would their ages be confirmed?
Curious.
Of course they could. However, they generally give themselves away VERY quickly.

LULU I hope you are right!flowerforyou
There HAVE been a couple who get through occasionally, but they are generally zapped within a very short window of time.

Should you ever question a profile, please report it through the "REPORT THIS USER" link in their profile.
