There are times WITHIN a thread when a person is trying to share their particular interpretation of a Bible verse, in order to get a message across about the discussion.

OK - I do read those short verses.

BUT HERE'S MY QUESTION:

Does ANYONE, belivers included, EVER read those posts that seem to stream off into all kinds of Bible verses?????

ESPECIALLY, those that actually BEGIN like that. Do any of you REALLY read that stuff? I guess you can tell, I sure don't.

So I guess the next question is - why do people actually go to all that trouble? Especially in the 'general religion' forum.

Because it is pretty lame and actually hypocritical to try to prove a point by scripture w/ out backing it up by Scripture..If someone is trying to prove a point to you, dont you want them to show you WHERE they got that from? Or you just take their word for it...

wasnt meant to offend anyone and it wasnt meant to be read into & picked apart...just a Happy Fathers Day!

Then why not just say, "Happy Father's Day!" to all dads without any qualifiers? How tough is that?

IF you are a Dad to your kids, then let it go....WOW! Feeling guilty? Geezzz!
Dont like HOW something is worded, then ignore it and go on...

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Do men say "all you who are well deserving Mom's??" Why do all these come with qualifiers? Father's Day needs to be put out of its misery.

We get a T-shirt or a tie or a tool and maybe a card if we are lucky. Mothers truly get a day dedicated to them. It's a double standard and I'm sick to death of it...

Thanks for the acknowledgement though... That's it I'm out of here! Geez. See you all later

...and if men did say that about Mom's, so be it....its true..credit goes to where credit is deserved....wasnt meant to offend anyone and it wasnt meant to be read into & picked apart...just a Happy Fathers Day! BUT, being you made it an issue, Bearing a child, doesnt make a person a actual Mom or Dad, but taking care of a child and loving them does.

Read the book "A Child Called It", it's the true story of a man who grew up in a very abusive home. It's amazin that he lived to tell the story honestly. He actually wrote a series of books. Quite compellin to read.

Have read all of his works. They are all great.

Amazin how after everything he went thru, he turned out to be a wonderful human bein. Strong argument for nature over nutureshades

Yes, I too have read and own the books, shows that no matter what we go through, that how we live and what we contribute to life and others is a CHOICE! We can take all the bad we went through and use if for good...dont think many could go through as much as he has...poor kid, but he is an AMAZING person!!!

There is no context to the word "new" wine...

John 2:1-11

1."And on the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there;
2. and Jesus also was invited, and His disciples, to the wedding.
3.And when the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine."
4. And Jesus said to her, "Woman, what do I have to do with you? My hour has not yet come."
5. His mother said to her servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it."
6. Now there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.
7. Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled them up to the brim.
8.And He said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the headwaiter." And they took it to him.
9. And when the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from(but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom,
10. and said to him, "Every man serves the good wine forst, and when men have drunk freely, then thet which is poorer, you have kept the good wine till now."
11. This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Canaof Galilee, and mainifersted Hos glory , and His Disciples believed in Him..."

This isn't the idea of the actual act, but to show Jesus' miricles....

Wine back then or i should say grape juice back during Jesus time fernented much quicker since they didnt have a way of refrigeration back then to preserve grape juice so wine was a common drink of the day.

people always think the grass is greener on the other side, well if you water your own grass it gets green

If only we all remembered that in relationships when things started to seem like they were going bad...

hmmmm well, to set the record staight, drinking is not a sin, drunkeness is..Jesus at the wedding in Canaan turned something as pure as water into wine...Jesus drank, but He did not get drunk
