I broke mine about 7 years ago and they told me to stay off it for 6 weeks at the least.I was walking on it within a week,but it hurt like h#!! the first week after I broke it.Your going to be moving real slow and carfull for a long time.Sorry to hear you banged it

Tell them you want the old tank in front of you when you go in to get the bike,I hate to say it but they could be pulling a fast on.Call your insurance person first and check with them about disposale of the tank and if you can have it,but you should have photos to documente it due to futare problems
