The media are reporting he was from a Jordanian Palestinian origin. He was going to be deployed to Iraq and he did not want to go . Also his entourage people were teasing him constantly about being Muslim . Also the media are reporting an increase in the military suicide, family violence and abuse and post stress crap.......etc . The Military as a whole has a new policy where the are downsizing servicemembers throughout every branch. One of the quotes for a source in Washington stated "Servicemembers are and continue to be our greatest expense, every one we can downsize frees up money to be spent elsewhere" well what this is causing is them overworking Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen. Pushing them to work 18+ hours a day and often not in a job that they are remotely qualified for. Causing accidents, and soldiers to completely burn-out. I think this is an EXTREME case of burnout, but I still blame Washington, and the money grubbing bean counters there. yeah you're so right! None of the blame should be place on the a-hole who strapped a couple pistols to his belt and walked into the processing center, yelling Allahu Ackbar! and started shooing up the place.. yepp.. not his fault.. people were teasing him.. not his fault.. washington is "downsizing" the military (Shades of the Clinton, anyone?) not his fault.. he was forced to see all those casualties from overseas.. not his fault.. his mommy didn't love him enough.. not his fault.. he grew up in a socio-economically depressed area.. not his fault.. his high school baseball coach cut him from the team.. not his fault.. his girlfriend dumped him before prom.. not his fault.. he sat in his room playing World of Warcraft 16 hours a day.. not his fault.. blah blah blah blah.. When are violent psychopaths ever held responisble for their actions? I didn't say it gave him an excuse to do those things, but go over to Iraq, stay for a couple of tours, then spout off. yeah, hey thanks smart guy.. I tried.. they won't let me.. I had a slightly asthmatic childhood, though I grew out of it, and have flat feet.. though either don't really affect me that much I could have lied my way through MEPS, covered up my medical history like the sh!thole staff sergeant recruiters told me to but I didn't feel like risking my Constitutional rights for the rest of my life on a dishonorable medical discharge.. but thanks for playing.. As for Maj Hasan.. if his name had been McVeigh or Smith as Martha Raddatz wishes, All we'd be hearing about would how he was right-wing terrorist and how we've gotta be on the look out for these right wing extremists.. But noooooo... his name is Middle Eastern and he's a muslim who sympathises with the enemy.. (which has nothing to do with it, I'm sure) |

Presidio? that doesn't even make sense. Presidio is not on the way to anywhere Presdio is over a hundred miles south of the interstate and would be a detour of several hours out of the way. There are NO cities of any kind within five or six hours of Presidio Presidio. that's right. it is in the middle of no where.. and probably one of the least secure crossings into the the US... but the middle of nowhere happens to be in the middle of one of the most heavily traveled drug trafficking lanes in North America... I don't understand it.. there isnt even anything remotely close to Presidio on the south side of the Rio.. Closest population center is Chihuahua and I'll bet my hat that hardly any of those folks dropped off in Ojinaga stay in Mexico for long.. All the FedGov is doing is taking someone else's problem and parking it on our Lone Star doorstep.. and guess who's infrastructure and cities they'll be infesting and sucking dry.. |

I think the real problem in this, has to do with the fact, that USA was trying to send over a muslim man to Iraq or Afghanistan to kill fellow muslims. No matter how you look at it, you will end up with this answer. And again, i'm gonna say it, because it's confirmed by another newspaper too, he is a palestinian. not Jordanian. Doesn't matter anyway... Imagine if you are a french origin and USA is bombing France and you supposed to go there and kill french people. He willingly swore an oath to the Constitution, not to Islam.. In that uniform, he is an American soldier first and a muslim second. If his allegiance to Islam, in his mind, outweighed his allegiance to the Constitution and the United States such that he couldn't uphold his oath to the same.. There are ways to get out of the Army that don't involve running into an army post where soldiers are getting ready to deploy, yelling 'Allahu Akbar!!' and shooting up the place.. If all he wanted to do was commit suicide, there are also ways of doing that without running into an army post where soldiers are getting ready to deploy, yelling 'Allahu Akbar!!' and shooting up the place.. As for the invading France analogy.. the French have a thing called the foriegn legion.. people from all over the globe enlist in it and are expected to carry the fight to the enemy where ever that may be, even if that means the enlisted man's home country... |

What do the dems feel? I noticed liberals mentioned and republicans but nothing on the dems. I'm not sure america can make new jobs simply because as soon as they do, immigrants that will work cheaper than americans will get the jobs. The stimulus package was ok, i'm sure it helped some of the people. you mean the stimulus bill that was written by the Apollo Alliance? It sure did help the sex studies dept at Syracuse who, thanks to the stimulus bill, are getting to study the sex lives of freshmen females.. Now that's stimulus! |

I find it hilarious that every single person here has jumped on the bandwagon in saying that this was a crime of religion or nationality. So far there has been nothing to even suggest this except the name of the shooter being Islamic, and a couple of "press releases" from former coworkers in the military, which is nothing but hearsay. So far there is no evidence of anything other than a tragic shooting, on a military base. Yes history has shown us that SOMETIMES this can be due to a persons background or religion. However history has also shown us that this is even more likely to be a case of the guy needing mental help and not getting it because the military was too stingy to provide proper comp time, and treatment for those who have been under stressful situations. Now, I am not saying he is an innocent person who was left to explode by the system, but I am not saying he was a religious jihaid (sp?) operative either. Until the fact s are known, nobody knows what the truth is. There have been several reports of his postings to the internet re: his attitude towards islam, suicide bombers, and jihad.. That's not to say that any of that played into his motivation but this soldier, reportedly, has a history of mixing politics with his military duty.. condemning US FoPo, admiring suicide bombers, equating the same to a soldier in the field jumping on a grenade.. http://www.breitbart.tv/co-worker-ft-hood-gunman-made-outlandish-comments-condemning-us-foreign-policy/ It'll be interesting to see how this plays out and what details are released.. I admire your willingness to stand up for a fellow soldier and reminding us to leave our jump-to-conclusion mats in the closet.. btw, thank you for your service to our nation |

Only audio, no press references at this time but I'm sure it'll hit the press media soon. ~Raiderfan |

I guess the troops weren't commiting suicide often enough with his deadly drugs, so he decided to help them along. Probably taking them himself. A satanic drug-induced psychotic pschyiatrist. When will people cry out against the way troops are 'treated' for PTSD? care to elaborate? not everyone is privy to the information as you seem to be.. what drugs? and how would such drugs contribute to or cause the voilence perperated today? |

Doesn't matter what you do there will always be illegal aliens, shoot them, hang them, deport them does not matter. The only way to not have illegal aliens trying to get in your country is to be a poor, jobless, hungry and ruled by crooks, that way nobody will want to come to your country. If I was jobless hungry like hell and have no future where I am i would want to go legally or not in a country where I have a chance. The US claims to the rest of the world that they are the best, the land of the free, the land of opportunity and then you wonder why people will do anything to go there. The majority of you would do the same as them if you were in their shoes. Be that as it may, it is still our perogative to enforce our laws and not encourage people to enter our country illegally.. not only is our perogative and right, it's our responsibility to do so. And it doesn't make it right (or legal) for people to come over just because they want to.. Thousands of people from other countries line up for a chance to come here the legal way.. why should we encourage people to break our laws by rewarding the border jumpers with citizenship? It's totaly self-subversive and does nothing but encourage more illegal immigration... |

I'm skeptical of this picture and the claim, only because I believe that it is not permitted for a uniformed soldier to modify his uniform for political reasons, no matter what those politics are. As to the statements attributed to the three percenters, or whomever, I wont argue against them, but they seem a bit unnecessarily paranoid to me. I've never heard anyone propose even half the wild things listed ( at least not anyone who has a chance of being taken seriously). It reminds me of the left-wing claptrap I ran into as a youth, people paranoid that the U.S. was about to be turned into another nazi state, or the ravings of the folks who are sure the aliens are about to land and give us ALL anal probe tests. google "great new orleans gun grab" |

Isn't it funny that when a cheating conservative gets caught, he needs the prayers of the other conservatives for being only human. Yet, when a cheating non-conservative is caught, it's 'grab your pitchforks' and 'those who vote for cheaters are as morally bankrupt as the cheater' (even though the vote preceded the revelation). Bonus question: what do Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton have in common? -Kerry O. "Sauce for the goose." excuse me, but it was one of the most liberal socialists on this board that was arguing that was arguing that politicians' sex lives weren't for public consumption.. I never said anything about offering prayers for conservatives souls for their transgressions.. just pointing out that the mouthful of spit swishes to both sides, much to the chagrin of those that would pardon the Clinton for derilecting his duty getting a shine job in the Oval Office when he was on the clock.. I don't think I've ever heard a harsh word uttered on this board against Speaker of the House Gingrich, who many seem to idolize as the Moses of the New Conservative movement. What, don't conservatives have a problem with a spouse who cheats on his wife who has cancer unless he's a Democrat? And do we even have to go into the Sen. Ensign affair? Or Governor Sanford? Why no clever little double entendres about them or Gingrich? Pot. Kettle. -Kerry O. Call it selective board reading on your part, for all I know.. I just know I remember reading at least as much about Sanford and his Brazilian mistress on this board.. I know I've read several references on this to the senator or house rep that was busted for solicitation in a mens toilet.. Again, I was just addressing the assertion by one of the posters here that politicians' private sex lives ought to remain private.. when the only politician she seemed to want to apply it to was the Clinton.. |

Billy Carter was a drunk, big deal, hell yes the USA is that bad, I'm thinking about going overseas to get a job, the pay is probably better too....The only problem with Obama is his big mouth, he's a smooth talker with oratory skills out of this world, but he made astronomical promises that can't be kept, however it won't be from lack of trying....still though he is far too inexperienced for the job, but give him credit, he surrounded himself with great people, is it enough...we'll know in a few years......My only pet peeve with him is, joining Oprah (well she got him elected, lmao) in the olympics venture and going on all these late night talk shows and charging it to the tax payer, plus he's getting paid for his appearences, maybe that time could be best spent winning the war, no not the one in afganistan or Iraq, the one here, poverty and kids killing each other over street corners. surrounding himself with great people? you mean maoists, devout communists and marxist? your defininition of "great" differs vastly from mine, I have to say.. |

Audit the Fed
Repeal the 16th and 17th amendments. Put the power of the Senate back in the hands of the States where it belongs and take away the Federal Government's ability to tax without apportionment. Don't send your gold away in an envelope and trade it for worthless paper.. that's a good place to start |

Saudi court upholds child rapist crucifixion ruling
Tue Nov 3, 2009 2:22pm IST RIYADH (Reuters) - A Saudi court of cassation upheld a ruling to behead and crucify a 22-year-old man convicted of raping five children and leaving one of them to die in the desert, newspapers reported on Tuesday. The convict was arrested earlier this year after a seven-year old boy helped police in their investigation. The child left in the desert after the rape was three years old, Okaz newspaper said. International rights groups have accused the kingdom, the birthplace of Islam, of applying draconian justice, beheading murderers, rapists and drug traffickers in public. So far this year about 40 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, crucifixion means tying the body of the convict to wooden beams to be displayed to the public after beheading. Texas Says No To Transport Of Illegal Aliens Through Presidio Source: Governor of Texas Posted on: 2nd November 2009 Plan would move illegal aliens apprehended in other states through Presidio Gov. Rick Perry today sent a letter to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano urging the federal government to stop its plans to transport illegal aliens from other states into Texas solely for the purpose of deportation. The Alien Transfer and Exit Program (ATEP), which is scheduled to begin tomorrow, would transport more than 34,000 illegal aliens per year through Presidio. “Turning the Presidio area into a way station for the repatriation of illegal immigrants adds responsibility to local authorities and holds the potential of increasing the strain on local and state infrastructure and resources,” Gov. Perry said. “This plan will increase the likelihood that these individuals will immediately cross back into Texas, which is already bearing an uneven burden in dealing with immigration and border security issues along the Texas-Mexico border.” Gov. Perry noted this program is a result of the federal government’s continued lack of an effective strategy for dealing with border security. “Texas is proud of its working relationship with the United States Border Patrol, and we have invested significant state resources to assist them in their worthy efforts. We will continue to request that the federal government send the adequate resources necessary to effectively secure the southern border,” Gov. Perry said. Since January, Gov. Perry has repeatedly urged the federal government, through letters to President Barack Obama, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, to approve his request for 1,000 Title 32 National Guardsmen to support civilian law enforcement efforts to enhance border security in Texas. A porous border places Texas and the nation at risk from international terrorists, organized crime cartels and transnational gangs. Until the federal government fulfills its responsibility of securing our border, Texas will continue filling in the gaps by putting more boots on the ground, providing increased law enforcement resources and leveraging technology along the border. In the absence of adequate federal resources to secure the state’s southern border, Gov. Perry recently announced the state’s latest border security enhancement using highly-skilled Ranger Reconnaissance (Ranger Recon) Teams to address the ever evolving threat along the Texas-Mexico border. Additionally, under the governor’s leadership and thanks to action taken by the Legislature, the state has dedicated more than $110 million to border security efforts in each of the last two legislative sessions. To view the governor’s letter to Secretary Napolitano please visi Attached File: Gov. Perry’s Letter to Secretary Napolitano http://thegovmonitor.com/world_news/united_states/texas-says-no-to-transport-of-illegal-aliens-through-presidio-13254.html http://governor.state.tx.us/files/press-office/NapolitanoJanet200910310000.pdf Why can't those illegals be deported back the way they came? Why does Homeland Security need to bus these people (34,000 per year) half way across the continent just to drop them off in a place where it's certain they will cross again into the State of Texas? Where does the Federal Government derive the authority to shift the illegal immigration problems of other states to the back porch of another state? This is actually hilarious. They are busing illegals out of our country WHICH IS WHAT THE HATEFILLED RIGHTWINGERS HAVE BEEN SCREAMING ABOUT SINCE I DON'T REMEMBER WHEN and now you want to ***** about The PATH THEY USE TO DEPORT ALL THESE (BY THE HATEFILLED RIGHTWINGERS STANCE TERRIBLE CRIMINALS) (NOT TRUE BY THE WAY) PEOPLE OUT OF THE COUNTRY!!!! Talk about hypocrital b-ulls-hit I don't object to their being deported. I'm all for that. What I object to is our federal government amassing an army of illegals on the Texas Border. Where do you think they're going to go? back home? not a chance.. the town of Presidio is a tiny tiny community, a little over 4,000 people.. and the US Federal Government is going to completely overrun that town with illegals. If Mexico did this, it would be tantamount to an act of war. But your beloved One does it and you find no fault in it.. Deport them.. fine. good. please do.. but if you catch them in California, take them back across in California.. Catch them in Kanasas? take 'em all the way to Yucitan You want to emmigrate to the US? Good.. we're happy to have you so long as you do it legally.. WE have emmbassies in nearly every country around the globe.. go there, apply for a visa. do it legally. Just because you come from Mexico, it doesn't mean you're entitled to a cut in line.. |
