Don't know a lot yet.

I know the guy had a Muslim sounding name, and most will take that angle.

I just heard he was a pschyiatrist, and I'm taking that angle.

I guess the troops weren't commiting suicide often enough with his deadly drugs, so he decided to help them along. Probably taking them himself. A satanic drug-induced psychotic pschyiatrist. When will people cry out against the way troops are 'treated' for PTSD?

Another thing I noticed. Two handguns, just like the VA Tech shooter. Another mind-controlled government black op?

this reminds me of the akbar case in feb. 2003. in that case another soldier with a middle eastern name turned his rifle on his fellow soldiers killing 2 and injureing 14. that case was terrorism and i'll bet this one will as well.

Oh yes!!! I remember that!!! Thanks for refreshing our memory. This might be a trend that just might have to be looked into deeply. The military has every right at this point to make sure their men or women are with them not against them. It needs to happen to prevent any further killings such as this despicable act today and in 2003.

I do not feel this is an act of terrorism, in the sense of foreign terrorism.

I think it was just the case of an individual that had repeatedly seen the psychological effects of the war. He had been working with soldiers with cases of PTSD, which is extremely emotionally degrading on a practioner. And he might have been not in the 'correct' mental state and now faced with deployment; he may have just snapped.

This has nothing to do with religion or culture. It is just an unfortunate case.

Prozac, Luvox, ect - they are called SSRI drugs and have been involved in EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL SHOOTING !!!! My #1 question is was this guy on them? They interfere with your ability to tell fantasy from reality.

Sure, the guy had strong religious beliefs. But drugs could have pushed him over the edge and taken away any inhibitions.

You haven't heard about the record suicides among the troops? The #1 treatment for PTSD is these damnable drugs.

And doesn't it kind of show the level of treatment they are getting when a bozo like this is stationed at Walter Reed? They should be getting world class treatment.

Nobody remembers the Walter Reed scandel 2 years ago? How much has it really improved?

And how about the soldier who had the mental breakdown, refused to deploy, holed up in a house, and was taken out by SWAT.

There are MANY stories like that, and many more to come I'm afraid.

Careful now.

I can see them using this as a justification for their Big Brother surveillance of everybody, not just GI's. They will say 'he was against foreign policy' so now everybody who doesn't agree with the Fascist NWO is a potential terrorist.

Another reason this may have been staged - war support and troop moral is at an all time low. So now - go get them terrorist Mulsims, see what they did. A mini 9-11.

And nobody wants to deploy. I still say anyone who goes AWOL is a hero. We should have a national system of safe houses for them - like the Underground Railroad.

I still think this has everything to do with DRUGS. This guy would have had easy access. Self-medicating? Why does NOBODY ever ask that?

Too late. Napolitano's Homeland Security aldready does consider those opposed to its policies as potential terrorists

No comment, other than those in uniform are there by choice. Do you duty or be a conscientious objector.. but uphold your oath

May well be that theres a linkage to the use of psych drugs.. as I read it though there are differences in the ways that those drugs affect the juvenile brain, as in the case of Columbine et al, and the way they affect the adult brain..

No doubt, our soldiers deserve the best treatment available. Unless I was dying, I would give up my seat at the emergency room for a soldier. They deserve the very best there is.

I have a suspicion that this Hasan was fast-tracked up the ranks and that potential issues with him were overlooked, perhaps on account of his religiuos affiliation. I understand that it typically takes a considerable time longer than it did for him to reach the rank of Major. So either he was an exemplar soldier, which we know not necessarily to be true, or there were certain things in his jacket overlooked for the sake of speeding him up the ranks.

Before I was allowed to serve I had to take an oath swearing to protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America. If they charge dude with treason along with his other crimes, that charge would fit the bill in my book.

That is exactly right, you take a very serious oath. To turn your back on your fellow soldier is a disgrace and he needs to be punished to the fullest extent. I hope it's the death penalty.

The army major was a radical Muslim who equated suicide bombers with American troops who fell on grenades. He went to a conference in Washington and confronted his peers in an anti-war stance. Upon learning of his intended deployment to Afghanistan, he gave his belongings away and planned this attack against a large group of unarmed soldiers yelling "Allāhu Akbar" as he shot them.

I got the above from the ABC website but there may be better sources.
