Saudi court upholds child rapist crucifixion ruling
Tue Nov 3, 2009 2:22pm IST RIYADH (Reuters) - A Saudi court of cassation upheld a ruling to behead and crucify a 22-year-old man convicted of raping five children and leaving one of them to die in the desert, newspapers reported on Tuesday. The convict was arrested earlier this year after a seven-year old boy helped police in their investigation. The child left in the desert after the rape was three years old, Okaz newspaper said. International rights groups have accused the kingdom, the birthplace of Islam, of applying draconian justice, beheading murderers, rapists and drug traffickers in public. So far this year about 40 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, crucifixion means tying the body of the convict to wooden beams to be displayed to the public after beheading. "International rights groups"
Need to spend more time concerning themselves with the violation of the victims rights. |

He deserves what he gets. Any person that harms a child gets no mercy from me. I cannot imagine what these babies went through. What's sad is when the victims are older, the victims are the ones that get severely punished.

He got punished because he raped a young boy if it had been a young girl then the punishment if any would had been very different.
Thats the problem over there, one rule for men another one for women. |

The scary part here is that since their system doesn't so much have 'due process', the rush to judgement leaves much room for error. It's not the harshness of the sentence that bothers me. It's the tendency for the 'witch hunt'.
