Hehe, yea, my approach for shy girls is I wave either something shiny or edible high in the air, and then proceed to move closer to them at an angle. When I get close enough...that's when I use the burlap sack that's in the other hand. BAM!

Hmmm, being shy myself, what I have found is open-ended questions, and just being genuine. If you show an interest in someone, an honest interest in who they are, they tend to open up a lot easier.

I'll be reading posts and wondering, "Who the heck is this Tom guy?"

LOL, partial amusement, and all time-wasting. I like to be friendly anyway, and a part of me thinks "what if this is a real person, and nobody realizes it. How bad would it suck to be them?"

So, I give 'em a chat, say things you should never say to real people, laugh a whole bunch, and once in a blue moon I'm pleasantly surprised. Some of the emails I get back though LMAO, they are classic! I also spend time messing around with telemarketers too though. I figure they get a story of a strange customer, and I had fun messing with them.

So most of you recognize me for the goof-ball that I am; so it's probably no surprise that I engage myself in wacky hijinx.

One of my fun past-times for self-amusement (or mental masturbation as it were) is to write emails to MySpace succubi, spammers, and other fake "people" who create profiles for various reasons.

I've actually made contact with a few of them...one I've talked to about business (their marketing strategy is non-existent), and the other I'm trying to get to admit that they are not real.

So what do you all think about all this, I thirst for your opinions. I can only assume that the "shy kid" that I was talking to wasn't real either, but at least don't have any guilt if his mom just made him delete his profile

I wouldn't say priceless...although 40 bucks a pound ain't cheap

The only two people I've been compared to are

1.) Tony the Tiger, because I remind them of a mascot for a sugary kid's cereal (they even gave me the Tony doll! )

Not that I think you handled it wrong or should have given him a second chance; but that is a lot to deal with in any amount of time.

Bottom line though, no one has the right to question you like a child, which was how he was acting. Regardless of abandonment issues, he JUST MET YOU! He has absolutely no claim on you as far as a relationship goes.
