We have had the conceal/carry law in Kansas for just a couple of years.
I keep saying I will get a permit and have been waiting to see some
development of the corporate nonsense that would follow the passing of
conceal/carry and it has.

The big malls here do not allow you to carry, the big stores do allow
you to carry, you cannot carry even into some parking lots.

How is my right to conceal/carry going to help me if I cannot carry onto
or into specific places. The malls especially. That is where a lot of
gang activity goes on here, at one of the larger malls. It has been many
years since I perused the malls anyway but if I did need to go to one
one of those, I would want to carry now.

I would not be stupid enough to carry in my purse. I have a shoulder
holster and would carry just under my arm and jacket. If someone shoved
a gun or knife in my face and tried to grab my purse I would be able to
defend myself in this manner. I think. lol. Of course, I might just
faint, or crumple to the ground in a cowardly position and cry. Who the
heck knows? lol.

I have never tried any drugs either except the ones my doctor TELLS me I
have to take.

I do have a rather distant relative who was an addictive personality and
the drugs that took her made her life a living hell, and all those
around her. Her friends, family, and loved ones could not dissuade her.

God rest her soul, she left behind a son, 11 and a grieving husband,
grieving sisters, grieving mother, grieving friends. So much pain...

I woke up around 2-ish am this morning and could not get back to sleep
so checked in here. Almost immediately I got an IM from someone who was
18 years old and asking to have phone sex.

Shock. Then I closed the window quickly as well, you know that feeling
that sort of goes all over you (icky, scary)? Yeah, I got that and
"click" shut the window.

I SHOULD have taken note of the screen name (handle if you prefer) but
did not, I just saw the age and read the stupid message. So after a few
moments I realized I should send an abuse report. UH, I did not know
who it was. DUH. So I looked at who has looked at my profile recently
and only one 18 year old is there listed as a recent viewer. SO, how do
I go about reporting a "suspicion" of who the creepy person might be?

Where do I send an email of this encounter? Can VC or Mike check to see
who IM'd me in the past few hours?

Sorry about the squeemishness of my reaction and of my error but I
thought this might be the kind of thing that warrants an abuse report.

Thank you for this thread. Multi-cultural is beginning to be "my way"

Wow, this is probably the sadest state of affairs I have read about in a
long time. Depending on where you live I suppose, medicaid is not all
it is cracked up to be anyhousen. Can you imagine loosing your child to
an absessed tooth? What a woeful state of affairs when lawmakers cannot
