What Say Ye

Why?
His whispered, whimpering pried
Away no casual insistence belied
To land upon the teetering reed
Where perched precarious sight was freed.
Child of question yawns once more
To feign direction, his curious adore
A deepening breath exhaled as chore
To sleep, to rest from weeping's bore?
Why?
Has ceased to bid his time
Quell such restlessness, remind.
Light will fill the sky to day
Another query at tedium's bay.

When?
Persisted to delay
Taking slow, her teasing way
Impetuous diversion plans to grow
As truth is wind for thoughts do blow.
Doubt, a plant from impervious seed
Sprouts in rows to neatly grieve.
Exhaustion repeated grasping faith
Silence continues saving grace.
Impatient destined to beguille
Intention knowing all the while.
When?
Came quickly, left soon as
Leaving her, no time to have
Sharing light with Why? Such gall!
She lingers on...When?
Why? No call!!

My little place doesn't have much room..so I'm just tryin a little...I don't do the proverbial breakfast, lunch or dinner..it's what I have...I'd say your mind is changin gears for a while..that's all. I hate not havina car..it's drivin me crazy.

Well, I'll be honest here. I'm approaching 50 (not quite there yet but close) and I respect myself. I take care of my health and appearance, I feel attractive and sexy most of the time (we all have bad days, don't we?) and I'm even told frequently that I don't look my age, whatever that's supposed to mean. I'm articulate, intelligent, educated and sociable, with a wide variety of interests. I genuinely like men, whether as friends or as partners.

And I don't think of men as pigs. (Actually, it's the rare woman, I think, who truly paints men as a class with that broad a brush.) Y'all are human beings, just as women are, and as varied as we.

But I can't fall for just anyone. Whether for good or ill, you need more than just a Y chromosome and the appropriate anatomy if you want to flip my switch. It takes a certain type of personality, range of interests, set of attitudes and behavior to attract women. Some men I've encountered have managed to come across as though they think if I'm not falling all over them just because they're male, human and gave me the time of day then I'm somehow 'difficult' or 'defective'. Granted, there are probably women out there who don't understand why every man in the world isn't falling at their feet too, but I suspect most women are probably more accustomed to the idea of being choosy than most men are.

Yes, I realize I'm speaking in generalities, but it's just me thinking out loud.
