=== Sadie May ( Mac Donnchadha . . . ) Here with you, Sadie, on this island, the day is bold and bright, highlighted in crisp, cold morning. Branches of the Alder, Poplar, Hawthorn and Strawberry trees hold firm against already increasing winds. As we walk the dark, shady forest floor, old dried leaves and branches snapping below our feet, we pace with every step, and occasionally pause to rest, me and my good friend, Sadie May Mac Donnchadha. Look there! There mingling in among the trees - over there on high, birds perched resting their wings, hold tight to the swaying branches. And as the sun shines down through this canopy on their feathered backs, revealing varying dark blue florescence and shades of gray and red, among many others, they chirp, singing songs of bold, emboldened flight and heavenly derision, mocking all the day. And at once, as Ireland welcomes us into Her sheltered forests, Sadie May, we must embrace significant hues through tree-lines housed in measured, natural morning. O' aye, this day is ours! Trees be strong. Bold! Birds above our heads sing your songs gaily.Sing on! We have come to be with you, my Sadie May Mac Donnchadha and I. tommy moran / Ireland / 2013 === |
