Just because the earth will be destroyed someday doesn't mean the billions of other civilizations in the universe will be.
There are billions of galaxies with more stars and planets than all the grains of sand on all the beaches on earth. Think about that one.

There may very well be billions of other civilizations in the universe. But our Bible deals with the Earth and mankind.

Actually I do not.
You reject the deity of Jesus Christ.
One of several things that you reject regarding plain and simple Scripture.

Actually, you do.

Where is the evidence of this "deity of Jesus Christ" in the Scriptures?

It wouldn't make sense to you no matter what Scripture I used because you reject The Word of God.

You make alot of assumptions.

After reading all of this, i am confused as to what the point is?
Is it the belief that heaven exists?
Is it in the veracity of the Bible or any sacred writings?

"Heaven" is mentioned in most of the ancient writings. The Bible is no exception. In its literal sense "heaven" does exist. It means the upper atmosphere, in ancient times.

CLV Acts 1:10 And as they were looking intently into heaven at His going, lo! two men stand beside them in white attire,
11 who say also, "Men! Galileans! Why do you stand, looking at into heaven? This Jesus Who is being taken up from you into heaven shall come thus, in the manner in which you gaze at Him going into heaven."

The day that Jesus ascended, people were watching Him travel up, above the clouds.

But there is also another meaning to the term "heaven." And this is a place we can not look up into.

I will be the first to admit, i don't know much about the bible.
I believe it has some basic truths.
I also believe that it has been manipulated over time to suit the purpose of the people in power.

The first time I read the Bible I was 14. I had very limited experience with churches or religion at that time. The reason I read it was because I thought it was an important book. People talk about it and some of our government is based on it.

I read it again after I became Christian. Meeting Jesus kinda lights up the Bible for me.

I do understand your skepticism. Imy research has revealed that many of the books of the "early church fathers" have been manipulated in just such a way. But these books are not in the Bible.

Additionally, I think much has been added, changed or lost in the translations over time.
As a person who is bilingual and also an instructor for interpreting, i see this on a regular basis.
Some words that are used in one language may not ecist in another.
So you use the closest description to render the meaning
It is not uncommon for my students in classes that range from 10 to 20 students to all be handed the same written document to read and translate and have slight variation in their translation. None of it the wrong answer. Language is rich in variance.
As i read some of the posts on here i wondered how much has been lost in the biblical translation.

Tracing what the Bible says back to its origins is what I do. As we do not have the original text, we do have 4 very old Ancient Greek manuscripts. They are...

Codex Vaticanus (a & b)
Codex Alexandrinus
Codex Sinaiticus

These are considered the oldest and most complete manuscripts. Most other Modern Greek manuscripts were copied around 1500 AD. Well over 1000 years later. The Greek language changed alot in 1000 years. But that doesn't stop people from interpreting the Modern Greek manuscripts and pretending they are ancient Koine Greek.

The CLV has a NT based on the ancient Koine Greek manuscripts, and not the modern ones.

As a result, we are able to enjoy a much more accurate English version and the tools to trace the words back to their Koine Greek origins.

And while i do believe heaven exists, i don't think anyone can truly have an idea of what it's like because i don't know of anyone who has been there and come back.
I believe it's not meant for us to know while we are simple mortal on our journey in this life.
God bless us all.

In the Scriptures, we have the record of what Jesus said and did while He was here on Earth. Jesus, we are told in the Scriptures, came from Heaven and was able to describe it to some degree. He also told us what would happen in the future.

And when He was finished He literally ascended to Heaven, body and all.

I hope this helps.

Why would God create a new Earth if this one isn't destroyed?

Nothing you say makes any sense without Biblical back-up.

Strong's

H5769 `owlam o-lawm'
or lolam {o-lawm'};

from H5956; properly, concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), i.e. (practically) eternity; frequentatively, adverbial (especially with prepositional prefix) always. Compare H5331, H5703.

Strong's

G165 aion ahee-ohn'
from the same as G104;

properly, an age; by extension, perpetuity (also past); by implication, the world; specially (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future). Compare G5550.

An eon, as used in the Bible, is an undetermined time span. The Messianic Period, aka the Millennium, is defined as 1000 years (Rev. 20:4).

Doesn't the Bible say the Earth is 6,000 years old?

Not a Scriptural concept.

Perhaps it's time to return to the topic of this thread. It is really about the term "eon." Not the destruction of the Earth.

The Bible does not tell us the Earth will be destroyed.

Perhaps you are the one who needs to settle down. You are the one posting in caps.

You have provided no evidence to support your claim that heaven has ever been defiled.

Perhaps it was just wishful thinking?

I see where you present these theories, but I don't see any Scripture to back anything you say up.

I cannot accept anything you say without Scripture.

And I do not understand why you insist on trying to argue your beliefs without the Bible.

Anyone will tell you that when you Post a word in all caps, like "PERIOD," it represents yelling, not confidence.

Why typing in all-caps looks like you're yelling (A brief history)...

By AJ Willingham, CNN

(CNN)It probably feels like second nature to see a block of all-caps type and assume one of a few things:

you're being threatened
you're being yelled at
you're about to fall head-first into a drunken Facebook rant
you're receiving some important news
you're getting a bulletin from the National Weather Service
(or, maybe all five -- in which case, you're in for a bad day)

The use of the word "PERIOD" was a good indication.

But my solution is to post the Scripture that leads you to believe your theories. Instead of arguing them and trying to start a fight.

Paul Sutter is an astrophysicist at The Ohio State University and the chief scientist at COSI Science Center. Sutter is also host of Ask a Spaceman, RealSpace, and COSI Science Now. Sutter contributed this article to Space.com's Expert Voices: Op-Ed & Insights.

https://www.space.com/36990-what-happens-when-galaxies-collide.html

So when galaxies collide there are several things that might happen. There is a very good chance that the Earth will be destroyed. It might be merged with another planet or star. It might escape unscathed, but without an orbit around a star. Out Sun might be destroyed.

All in all, not a very promising prospect.

yea, and a unicorn has 1 horn...is that a fact? My point is that the only real fact about heaven or god is what you've read, other than that, there aren't any facts unless you been there yourself....

The facts I refer to are what is in the Bible. The word "heaven," for example, is in the Bible. That is a fact. It has nothing to do with unicorns or iPads.

From BlakeIAM
When Satan and a third of the Angels rebelled against God in Heaven , then yes it was defiled.
Why do you think there will be a new Heaven?
Answer: Because it was defiled through rebellion.
Why do believers go to Paradise and not Heaven?
Answer: Because the new Heaven isn't available at this time, to put it simply.

Instead of trying to start a fight, why not just post the Scripture that back-up what you say. Or were you just making this all up?

Prove it.

Who is "catan" ???
Seriously?

Jesus Christ is God.

Again, show the Scripture that says this. Jesus is called God's Son, not God.

CLV Matt 3:17 And lo! a voice out of the heavens, saying, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I delight."

When Satan and a third of the angels rebelled against God in Heaven, it was DEFILED.
PERIOD.
Hence the New Heaven.

Again, there is no need to argue. Just post the Book, chapter, and verse.

CLV Rev 21:1 And I perceived a new heaven and a new earth, for the former heaven and the former earth pass away, and the sea is not more.

I don't see any mention of satan or heaven being defiled. Can you point it out?

Someone here has said that satan has defiled heaven, and will defile Jerusalem.

Even though I have told him that there is no Bible verse that says satan has defiled Heaven or will defile Jerusalem, he still argues the point.

But there is no need. All he has to do is show the Bible verse, book, chapter number, and verse number to make his point.

So here are some facts about Heaven.

Paul tells us there are three heavens...

CLV 2Cor 12:2 I am acquainted with a man in Christ, fourteen years before this, (whether in a body I am not aware, or outside of the body, I am not aware—God is aware) such a one was snatched away to the third heaven.

The first heaven...

CLV Gen 1:1 In a beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.

The second heaven comes after the flood...

CLV Heb 1:10 And, Thou, originally, Lord, dost found the earth, And the heavens are the works of Thy hands.
11 They shall perish, yet Thou art continuing, And all, as a cloak, shall be aged,
12 And, as if clothing, wilt Thou be rolling them up. As a cloak also shall they change. Yet Thou art the same, And Thy years shall not be defaulting.

And destroyed by fire...

CLV 2Cor 5:17
So that, if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: the primitive passed by. Lo! there has come new!

CLV 2Peter 3:10
Now the day of the Lord will be arriving as a thief, in which the heavens shall be passing by with a booming noise, yet the elements shall be dissolved by combustion, and the earth and the works in it shall be found.

The third heaven has yet to come...

CLV Rev 21:1
And I perceived a new heaven and a new earth, for the former heaven and the former earth pass away, and the sea is not more.

satan was never able to defile Heaven...

CLV Rev 12:7 And a battle occurred in heaven. Michael and his messengers battle with the dragon, and the dragon battles, and its messengers.
8 And they are not strong enough for him, neither was their place still found in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent called Adversary and Satan, who is deceiving the whole inhabited earth. It was cast into the earth, and its messengers were cast with it.
10 And I hear a loud voice in heaven saying, "Just now came the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brethren was cast out, who was accusing them before our God day and night.
11 And they conquer him through the blood of the Lambkin, and through the word of their testimony, and they love not their soul, until death.

Michael cast out satan from heaven and conquered him through the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus cleanses.

Heaven was not in any danger of being "defiled."
