Cultural norms has influence on our behaviors and attitudes, however idiosyncrasies can be used to create biases and breed ignorance without having a complete understanding of a given culture. I am Latina (Brazilian and Hispanic)and women in our culture are known to be subservient or more submissive, but what does this mean?

"Hmmm....are you sure that racial context plays no role in a person's behavior? I am black, but I think it does - there are idiosyncrasies critically peculiar to every given culture - something they are noted for.......you disagree"

There are other factors other than "racial context" that play a role in negative behaviors within all cultures among all people.

Well one is never physically alone, however when your standing alone simply sends out the message that your comfortable in your space, feeling lonely is a self negative emotion or state of mind.

"No one can effect you when you are by yourself" but you can effect yourself when you start to feel lonely. "It's a fear of ours to not want to be alone" It is human nature to seek another human."We all need to get laid but that's just a need that can be served and then life can continue as usual" It's more than being laid it's internally driven. "Why does it have to be the standard" It doesn't the choice of being single, married, involved in an exclusive relationship etc.,is a personal choice you must become comfortable with.

"Why is life dream to get married and have a family? Everyone has their own unique idea of what is and what is not, this depends on their experiences, for example for those whom have had negative experiences and has not gotten over the matter may speak bitterly than those whom have had positive experiences.

"Who says a person cant live alone or maybe have roommates and never find a mate" Indeed society norms are get married have children and live in a house with a white picket fence, however that is just the guideline you can either take the guideline and tweak it or create your own.

Truly life, love, and peace is a simple matter; it all depends on your internal make-up.....

"Is that emotional infidelity"? Yes it is emotional infidelity, and it can be devastating to a person, marriage or partnership as physical intimacy or unfaithfulness - if not more so, however most people don’t plan to be emotionally unfaithful until it becomes a definite emotional bond.

The best thing to do to avoid being involved with this type of situation is to trust and be honest with your partner, remind yourselves what bought you both together. Do fun and exciting things, and let's not forget romance never dies, find ways to romance each other.

It seems like he means more to you than just a "friend you dated" for this reason and perhaps for other reasons your having trouble sitting with this emotion. There is a reason for every season; so stay positive about yourself and your friend, unless you know for a fact she is being deliberate about your feelings and has been informed about how you truly feel. Begin to date again, this will open other opportunities awaiting. This world is huge there are plenty of fish out there! just be cautious...their all not dauphins....

agreed! I can have as much fun kissing as I can at sex with the right partner! Some people suck at one or the other & some people at both, but if you find someone that's awesome at both then......the heat is on!!! Keep that fire burning for as long as possible
