The people who cared SO MUCH when things were going good for me -- the ones I supported and nursed through all THEIR troubles -- have abandoned me.

People suck.

since about two weeks i can say i don't have friends. this word has no more meaning.

screw it. i have no choice but to make it through these bad times. maybe this "cleanup" was needed.

There's a cool book out there that gives a bit of a different perspective. I should have it somewhere...

If you find it, could you let me know the title and author? Also, I wouldn't mind finding a book written for teens, one that's encouraging and motivating. Don't know if it will help. My biggest problem is getting my son to understand that he's not stupid, far from it. He has a bigger challenge than some other kids in some areas (he's learning disabled as well) but he's far from stupid. But, if he doesn't get something right off the bat, he just gives up. He beats on his own self-esteem.

This book is written well enough for teens to read as well. Encouraging, motivating... yes.
The Da Vinci Method by Garret LoPorto.
There's no perfect book, and i just don't get around to write one about all that stuff myself shades
And tell your son he's cool. Disabled is just a word for "different" and an excuse for teachers and co who simply can't handle it.
The hard part for you as a parent is to let him know that you support him no matter what. And that it's alright. In a way he can believe it.

Can say that medication wasn't a brilliant idea. And the other option... well i learned to keep still, do my tasks. And i learned not to medicate a kid and not to ever use violence against a kid.
No more on that.

Yeah one does learn to live with it. Or even make something out of it. There's a cool book out there that gives a bit of a different perspective. I should have it somewhere...

First and foremost.. stop seeing ADHD as a disorder or problem. See it as an opportunity.

"I know life sometimes can get tough! And I know life sometimes can be a drag!
But people, we have been given a gift, we have been given a road
And that road's name is... Rock and Roll!"

And because it's Mingle here...let's steal, i mean .. say it this way:

10 reasons to date a drummer

1. Their coordination is incredible.
2. They can keep any tempo you want.
3. No matter what speed they go, they can make it good.
4. No matter how tired they are, they always finish the job.
5. They can follow the lead, or take it.
6. They love to bang.
7. No objections to performing in front of an audience.
8. They know how to handle their sticks.
9. They know the best spots to hit.
10. By the time they're done, you'll be cheering for more.

saying that and doing are two different things. You invest two years and what you think is a friendship forever, to only learn that you really don't know what the hell it really was. You don't get over that just poof done. And maybe because of the not knowing what the hell it was to him, is what makes it so hard.

Thanks people for all your comments...I really do appreciate it.

been there, done that. one can learn to let go. it doesn't matter what it was to "him" - what matters is what it was to "you". even in a mutual relationship of any kind two will not have/keep the exact impression of what it is/was.
