But for me, I believe that they are no longer in pain and are at peace. Who are we to judge on where they will end up in the Afterlife?

I would say we all have an agenda, whether we realize it or not. Bad or good, we all want something out of a relationship. Especially if we've had a history of bad relationships, or we attract narcissists etc. We always tell people the good side of us to attract them, but not the not so good side. Maybe we are the bad guy but we don't even know it. I was probably the cause of why my previous relationships failed but I never realized. You often don't see your own flaws, but others do.
