Hi Jai .. When someone says I need you .. the context would be why they said that .. what Was the trigger ..,. what Is the need ?

For example ..

someone close to you ...

has an argument , is upset , or having a bad day ...and says I need you

They are feeling horny .. and say I need you

They are worried you are going to break up with them .., and say I need you .

I need you ..can be manipulative , it can be intimate , it can be grounded in dependence /reliance (sometimes to extremes which are not healthy ) and usually comes with the expectation of “receiving” rather than giving .. meaning it can have a selfish agenda and does not always consider or prioritise the other person .

I stand by my earlier comment .. I do not want a man to need me I want him to love me

Hi Blondey,:rose:

I would like to tell you, that I agree with your statement below because a healthy relationship is built in the harmony of both giving and receiving.

"I do not want a man to need me I want him to love me  "

Thank you so much and have a nice day!

Hi Nicole! :hugging:

Innocent love, yes I think it exists, but moreso when we are still young and not yet jaded. Most of us have to consistently work at sustaining a loving relationship. Along the lines of what Larsi said, our experiences in prior relationships all tend to shape our current views on love.

But I don't think unconditional romantic love exists, or at least not for a reasonable person. I can be completely in love with someone, but if he murdered my dog or did something horrible to one of my kids, I would stop loving him. Most of us do have some type of conditions or boundaries, that when crossed would cause us to stop loving the other person.

(I think it's different in the case of love between parent and child, however.)

Hi Bonnie,:rose:

Thank you so much for your enriching reflections.

I agree with you, that unconditional love is a bond that exists between parent and child.

I'm sending you warm greetings!

Innocent Love can only be seen in very small children's..:baby:
Unconditional Love can only be seen in MOTHER.

:cherry_blossom::pray::cherry_blossom:

Hi Robin,:rose:

Thank you so much, I appreciate your words.
The meaning of one word, that you wrote caught my attention... "innocent Love can only be seen in Very small children's".

"in Very small", it is about an impact of the world around them..
And I think, that not always..

Have a beautiful evening! :pray::sunflower:

Hi Nicole, nice topic

According to me,
1) One cannot be "innocent" and be in love. Love requires a level of maturity to understand one's own feelings, and it's cause, thereof!
2) "Unconditional": No it is not. On the contrary, it is very much conditional. A feeling as strong as love is always in respect to the other person and hence it is conditional.

(The above are absolutely my observations, and not meant to hurt anyone's feelings)

Hi Kevin,:rose:

So nice, that you sharing your opinion. I found it very interesting and intriguing how people from different parts of the world perceive something so powerful, beautiful, and unique as love.

What is so wonderful is that doesn't make a difference where we are, in which part of the globe we live, these powerful, magnificent, and extraordinary feelings will be always built as love by two people.

I'm aware that perhaps sometimes faith, religion, and culture can have an influence on how people interact in relationships but the beauty of love.. we can experience always as love.

Have a beautiful week!

I think the fact that people subconsciously may be focused on receiving has to do with seeking external validation and filling a void on the inside.
Our (Western) society is based on stimulating external validation. Just think how much we get brainwashed by commercials on tv, online, magazines, and even billboards in the streets. All part of marketing and giving us the sense that we will be better when we have or wear XYZ.
That easily goes in our system as many have some form of 'not enoughness'.

The real receiving, which is when you have strong self-esteem, boundaries, no void inside as you can validate yourself etc etc., requires the heart to be open as this is the level that you truly receive.
This is an entirely different kind of receiving. It's not needy, it is an open loving welcoming place. At this level, with open heart and inner strength, receiving has become a true gift, like the cherry on the cake. It also fills you with joy and happiness when given, no matter how small it is, and true appreciation & gratitude follows. And feeling blessed.

Receiving is one of the most difficult things for people. Think of getting a compliment. Most deflect it with for instance, "Oh, it was nothing" instead of saying something like "Thank you, that feels really good to hear!"
A common mistake is many think receiving (and thus giving by another) costs money and is about material items they have to pay for. You see that line of thinking a lot on here from men.
But giving to another who then receives doesn't have anything to do with money. It is about love, even if you did pay for something to then give.

The reason true receiving is so difficult for most is because it requires the heart to be open.

Hi Crystal,:rose:

As you mentioned, maybe how strong self-esteem we have, allows us to understand the values of love and how precious is truly to receive, and how much you receive by giving.

How much you can give yourself when you offer and share, how deep you can enjoy by giving and by receiving.

I agree with you, that sometimes so difficult for people is to receive, and how hard is to truly enjoy when they received.

Sometimes so hard is to see one beautiful star in the night skies, where are millions of them...:star2:

To appreciate the great value of feelings and how beautiful and precious is love is the art of life...

Have a beautiful week! :hugging:

Hi Nicole

without context .. your question is too ambiguous and subjective.

Perhaps you can explain In terms of “romantic love” .. what you define innocent love or unconditional love to be ???

Hi Blondey,:rose:

I'm glad that you notice, that I expressed it ambiguously and incorrectly.
You're right, when I posted it I simply incorrectly expressed myself and misinterpreted my reflections.

Unconditional love, as Bonnie mentioned, is a type of love between parents and kids, and I think that maybe these kinds of feelings are building a sense of security in childhood, which also influences our adulthood life.

What kind of love I meant to and I'd like to express in, was romantic and innocent love.

Healthy relationships as I mentioned earlier..are when both woman and man are focused not only on receiving but for giving too.
For me, both to give and to receive has their unique meaning. There are like a treasure of love.
And that's why two people can build strong relationships only if is a balance.

About innocent love...
For me doesn't mean that innocent love can be experienced only as of the first love.
The first love is the most innocent but not the only one, which I can name innocent.

If two people are guided by an open mind, they can create and build something special.
Feelings are like the beautiful Universe..without dimensions..it depends only on two souls and hearts.
Mature love doesn't compete and compare, that creates this beautiful and innocent part of love.
The most beautiful way of experiencing and feeling that it is innocent is when we feel that it is the first and unique way.

But romantic love is love without time.. and in this beautiful part of souls, where you can create your own, only one, the unique feeling.

Each of us is different, that's why only depends on how we perceive these feelings and how we can describe and understand them.
Feelings are very beautiful but also very complex.

Have a beautiful day!

For some it does, for some it doesn't ...

I mean, innocent? Yeah, maybe the first time, we fall in love. But everything after that is based on previous experiences, both good and bad ones, and is therefore not innocent any more.

Hi Lars,:rose:

Thank you so much for your sharing!

Time always is healing... but the most important is to keep in us only these beautiful memories, and gorgeous moments, and never forget about something that builds our strength, about the love that is within us. :sunflower:

Have a beautiful time! I hope you are feeling better from day to today and your cats are happy because of the beginning of the most beautiful part of the year which we can enjoy now! :sun_with_face::sunflower:

Yes, I do believe that, it's also the way I enter into a new relationship. Otherwise, what's the point?

It does require that both parties have healed their past and especially past relationships so you don't bring old baggage into the new connection that doesn't even have anything to do with it.

Hi Crystal, :rose:

Thank you so much for your thoughts. :sunflower:
I always appreciated your very interesting and intriguing posts and I enjoy very much the time when I read your thoughts and conclusions.

Innocent love...

What's the point of my question?
I was wondering if such beautiful feelings still exist...

I think that the world now is transforming, developing, and expanding so fast and we are in the middle of a very interesting part of the century, but people very often miss and forget about these beautiful and unique values like friendship and love.

Most important is, that very often, but not always, of course, they find pleasure only in everything that is connected with receiving, but very rarely do they feel the need to give and share.
I have in my mind only this part that is connected with emotions and feelings.

This part of life is very delicate and very beautiful.
Also is connected with something within us that is so priceless and special.
Something so rare and beautiful, because each of us has a unique human aura, which doesn't match everyone, but only to this one unique person.

I realize, that feelings correlate with the mentality. Although about this I'm pretty convinced.
Each of us has our own unique, wonderful, and beautiful world in which feelings can blossom as a beautiful and rare flower.

I agree with you Crystal, a strong foundation for building love can be based on a strong and mature friendship.

Although, always both men and women need time after the previous relationship to heal themselves.

How deeply men and women love, adore, care about each other, respect each other...
I assume, that maybe it depends on the traits of the character of any of us and how we perceive the world.

Always and forever love was and is built on very rare, beautiful, and special feelings.

I wish you a beautiful weekend! :tulip:I know the meaning of this beautiful flower, which I
like so much!
May your time will be fill by warm rays of sun and positive energy!
