when you have a special needs child like mine...from when they start school( age 3,in her case) they are considered in the catagory of "developmental delay" until age 9.After age 9 they are considered in the catogory of"mental retardation".
She is in a classroom with four teachers and 9 other students.She also gets to participate in activities with kids who are not disabled. |

If anyone has read my profile, I am the parent of two disabled kids My oldest is classified by fedral law as having Mental Retardation and Autism. Yes, she is mentally retarded but is not a retard.She has global retardation There is a big difference is saying "She's mentally retarded" and saying"She's a retard". One implies a condition and the other is a put down saying that she's stupid. |

It sounds like the first one was just plain disrespectful and was playing games.
The second woman is running scared and she may not have known how to tell you that. It might not of had anything to do with you at all since she has a son. Something may have came up that she was afraid for you to see as"baggage". |

I don't see men as being afraid of committment.If that was the case,they wouldn't have friends,pets or take care of responsibilities...which all of these require some form of committment.
You have to let the other person have time to deal and heal their past hurts.If they feel safe and secure they will heal at their own pace. |

I'm 5'3 so most people are taller than me but I see my hieght as an advantage...I can get into small spaces that other people can't. If I have a child that gets stuck while playing hide go seek..i can get into the same space and unstick them lol.
