Permanent grin pasted on with a glue stick borrowed from the kid in the next row over
Ok so it wasn't borrowed, I took it after I stabbed him in the eye with my overly sharpened Crayola, the color was sea green
I then shoved his head inside the desk just because he wouldn't shut the hell up
Kept on rambling on about how his eye hurt now, I told him to put some snow on it but he never listened
Its eighty years later now and I still have the magazine ad pasted to my face
And the kid in the next row over can only see sea green images out of his left eye now and has a severe dent in his head from being shoved into his desk
But he's quiet now, except for the occasional whimper about those damned rabbits that keep hip hopping all over town
It doesn't make any sense at all to the normal ones who read this but I care not
Making sense is over rated any way besides its macaroni surprise day in the lunch room and I forgot my lunch from home
Until the janitor cleans up the barf from Suzie in third grade. then we all have to stay in the classroom and watch the snow flutter down from the sky and watch the kid from the next row over cry about his stupid eye
I fixed his eye though, I did, I cut a pretty picture from the magazine and pasted it on his eye
He shouldn't complain so much, theres kids that don't even have glue sticks in this world
And they go hungry no matter if Suzie in third grade barfs or not
They have no moms or dads, just strangers who sometimes give them food and medicine
And the teevee says they have no water, or at least clean water, its all dirty water that the cows take baths in
But what do I know I am only eight years old and all that stuff confuses me any way
Ok so I didn't really stab the kid in the next row over in the eye but he was all grumpy about sharing his glue stick and I told him about the kids who have no glue sticks
Or moms and dads, not even food and about all that dirty water from the cows taking baths
And how the man on the teevee said we should adopt them and send them money so they can get glue sticks and learn stuff
Like how to get clean water and how not to give the cows baths
And how to grow food and find some moms and dads, and where to find medicine so they won't die from things like a sore throat and an ear ache
But I'm only eight years old and I don't understand how the world lets the children die and go hungry
And I don't understand why these kids have no moms and dads, who took them away any way??
And why does my own mom cry and cry because we have no glue sticks either and the cow ran away so we can't even give it a bath
My name is Cindy and I have no dad, he ran away with the cow and I just don't understand
I have no shoes except for the ones I share with my little sister, so every other day I get to go to school and learn about how other people are able to have glue sticks and I am not
Today I cried because..I saw my picture on teevee and finally I understood that man was talking about me
Feed the children, he means please feed me, teach me not to be this way so I can make the world a better place so no more kids lose their moms and dads, and the glue sticks are plenty
So no one has to share shoes and my mom can stop crying and maybe just maybe the cow will come home
But Daddy, well Daddy just needs to stay away all he ever did was hit my mom and make her cry and blacken her eye
