Great poem. Powerful but also tragic. Well done. Most poems succeed because they are usually written out of our life experiences or the ability to communicate the emotive side of the soul to the audience.

Silent Rain

Have you ever cried in vain?
Your tears fell like a silent rain
The cold embrace of loneliness
Grasping like an angry fist
Wandering from here to there
Not belonging anywhere
Eyes that spawned a million tears
That sees a world which never cares
A face that never gave a smile
Because it never felt worthwhile

The cuts were deep
You felt the pain
Drops of blood
Like silent rain
Tried so hard to comprehend
Why your scares would never mend

A wasted life drifts down the drain
Still…no one hears the silent rain

I thought I might take advantage of this forum and post some of my poems. I have written MY own poems for awhile now and they help me to put into writing feelings and stories about the ups and downs of life, mostly downs for me as my childhood was a bit of a disaster, actually my life whole hasn't been great BUT it does make for great poetry I think! These poems are all 100% mine.

Here is the first I will share and if there is any interest I may add others. Thanks for reading.

Twilight of Shadows

In the twilight of shadows
Where storm clouds abound
In the dusk of my mind
Where no hope is found

A rain swept cemetery
Deep in my soul
A breeze of insanity
Whistled and rolled

In the furthest corner
Of darkest despair
I come face to face
With all that I fear

Tombstones like strangers
Brokenly stare
Engraved with those memories
I scarcely can bear

Hills shaped like monsters, I shudder to look
From behind they hide creatures
My childhood they took

Branches of trees twisted in pain
They creak and they moan
And they scream out my name

Shivers like spiders
They crawl down my spine
I shake just a little
I’m lost in my mind

flowers Great use of metaphor...haunting memories....Will look forward to more!
Thank you :)

I can remember when I switched from writing in my journal to doing a journal of poetry. Shadows are cool to write about. Here is one of mine.

Shadow Strangers

It is quiet as I walk down the hall.
I know he is there behind that wall.
He will want me at his becon call.
I tell myself that he is just small.
He starts yelling; Not new at all.
He must be thinking he's at a mall.
I must get to him before he falls.
Nervous laughter then the brawl.
Again comes the southern draw.
I have to stay calm and withdraw.
I can't let this be the last straw.
Slowly my composure will thaw.
Shadow strangers but so raw.

nice one, thank you for sharing :)

No problem. :)

It is also helpful to understand when reading the bible that it is a dispensational book and God dealt with mankind in various dispensations throughout the Bible in different ways, for example; Before Christ came the Jews were required to sacfrice animals to cover their sins but when Christ died and gave up His own blood on the cross, He became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Dispensations are different ways that God has dealt with mankind throughout time while keeping his absolute morals intact.

I think the bible is amazing how some things in it don't make sense to us and one day we find out what it means we think "wow I never thought of that". Like it was God who actually made the first sacrifice in the bible when Adam and Eve were naked in Genesis and they covered themselves in Figs (but they were the works of their own hands) and just as today our own works can't save us,only hide our sin, only the blood of Christ can cleanse us, God set the president right there in Genesis when he covered them with the skins of animals (something had to die and have it's blood shed to atone for sin) animals were not perfect as Christ was (but innocent) so that is where the first shedding of blood for the remission of sins happened (and is sometimes missed)and eventually Christ shed His own blood to wash away the sins of mankind than just cover it.

Anyway enough said. Anytime you want help I am around. Take care :)

Hi there, if you need help to understand the bible I am happy to help you. I used to preach part-time as a stand in for the pastor of a small church a few years ago before I became a full-time caregiver. I am happy to to take you through a bit by bit study of Genesis and work our way through it? I really enjoy studying the bible and talking about it. I think it would be fun and I am sure I can keep it interesting as well:)

Thank you everyone for your replies and well wishes. I hope you all find the happiness you are seeking whatever that is. I am trying to stay positive but life has not been too kind of late. If these aftershocks would stop I would feel a lot better about life I think.Hope everyone is well. :)
